Desperados 3: Trophies - list Desperados 3 guide, walkthrough

Last update: 22 February 2021

This page has a trophy guide for Desperados 3. You will learn about the requirements for various trophies/achievements in Desperados III. We've also put together a trophy plan that should help you unlock the platinum trophy in Desperados 3.

Desperados trophies and achievements 3 - plan and general information

  1. Desperados 3 has 37 trophies - 1 platinum trophy (only on PS4), 5 gold, 9 silver and 22 bronze.
  2. The platinum trophy in Desperados III is quite difficult to get, though getting 100% of the achievements should be less demanding than in Mimimi's previous game, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun. This is primarily due to the fact that you don't have to get all badges, i.e. complete all mission challenges. You can skip the most problematic badges and still get platinum.
  3. It will probably take you 30-40 hours to unlock all the trophies. The first playthrough campaign should take you around 25 hours. This is because we recommended choosing the hard difficulty for your initial playthrough. This will allow you not only to learn the maps and gameplay mechanics perfectly, but also to gain badges related to the hard difficulty that can be unlocked in almost every mission.
  4. Missed challenges and trophies can be completed by playing on Beginner, the easiest difficulty level. This helps a lot as there are far fewer opponents on the maps and they are less vigilant, making it easier to avoid detection.
  5. Some trophies require grinding, but the good news is that the game keeps track of all your progress. Even if, e.g., after killing the opponent, you load the previous sejv, all killings before loading the game state will not be lost.
  6. You can't miss any of the trophies - the game has the option of repeating stages. However, try to keep track of all the unique enemies associated with the Veteran Bounty Hunter trophy to avoid wasting time on searching for missed opponents.

Desperado

Trophy type: platinum

How to unlock: Get all trophies.

Comment: This trophy can only be unlocked on PlayStation 4. It is not available on PC and XONE.

Veteran Bounty Hunter

Trophy type: gold - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: gold

How to unlock: Kill 31 hidden Mimimi developers.

Comment: A very similar trophy has already appeared in Shadow Tactics. Hidden developers are characters that, instead of a standard title (e.g. gunslinger) have a unique name, surname and/or nickname.

  1. Eliminate 2 developers in missions 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16.
  2. One developer is eliminated in mission 7.
  3. In missions 8 and 10, you eliminate 3 developers.

Make a habit of moving the cursor on all enemies that are still on the map right before you finish a mission - follow the red dots on the map. See if any of them have a unique name.

Note - some enemies may be well-hidden. In the image example, the unique enemy from mission 16 is located at the left edge of the map and can be easily missed when crossing the left side of the canyon. The game unfortunately doesn't help in tracking this trophy - you won't know if you have already killed 100% of the developers on a given map.

Sheriff's Badge

Trophy type: gold - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: gold

How to unlock: Get 90 Badges.

Comment: badges are different challenges. Each mission except the first and seventh has 8 different challenges to complete. Since this trophy requires you to complete "only" 90 challenges, you won't have to get all the available badges. You can skip the more difficult challenges (e.g. those where you have to complete longer missions in specific time or without saving)

The game displays challenges for a given mission only after completing it, but you can do them as you go through the game - the first page of each of the missions in our walkthrough has a list of the available challenges. We recommend completing those badges that require you to beat missions on hard first. After that, you can repeat each mission on the easy difficulty to have much easier time getting the missing badges.

They Wear Red Bandanas

Trophy type: gold - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: gold

How to unlock: Kill 75 Long Coats.

Comment: Long Coats are elite opponents wearing black coats - you'll start seeing them from Mission 3. You can find the complete information about eliminating them on a separate page in the FAQ section. Order Sanchez to attack them or use a combined attack that involves shooting a Long Coat with a firearm (preferably a sniper rifle) and finishing him off with a second hero.

You shouldn't have problems with getting this trophy if you keep "clearing" the maps from enemies during your first playthrough. If you haven't received it, then start any mission that has Long Coats. Make a quick save before attacking a Long Coat. After you kill him, load the game and repeat the action. Keep doing this until you unlock the trophy.

Maneater Shrub

Trophy type: silver - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Hide 750 bodies.

Comment: The bodies of murdered or stunned and hogtied characters (opponents and civilians) can be hidden in many different places. They are primarily a variety of bushes, but also the interiors of buildings, haystacks, wells, chasms or water tanks.

It's a time-consuming achievement, but you can "cheat" a little bit. After killing several opponents, make a quick save. Hide their bodies to make the game record these activities. Load the last save and repeat all the steps. Keep doing this until you unlock the trophy.

Someone Call The Undertaker

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Kill 1,000 guards.

Comment: Guardians are simply all opponents encountered in the game, i.e. those who have a red outline around them when you highlight objects from the environment.

It's a time-consuming achievement, but you can "cheat" a little bit. Start controlling Sanchez, for example, and make a quick save after encountering a group of opponents standing close to each other. Shoot them all with a sawed-off shotgun (or kill them with any other weapon / skill), then load the save. Keep doing this until you unlock the trophy.

Lindberg and Hutch

Trophy type: silver - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Decide the outcome of the duel.

Comment: You can get this trophy in mission 1- On the Hunt, when you play as young John. While you are on your way to the objective, use the coin to distract 3 opponents and then reach a small ladder leading to the roof.

Don't move to the next area yet. Two gunslingers have a duel in the location in the image above. Throw the coin again to distract one of them. This allows the other gunslinger to shoot the confused enemy and win the duel.

Watch Out Below!

Trophy type: silver - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Kill 50 guards with elements of the environment.

Comment: You will encounter at least one interactive object in the majority of the missions that be helpful in killing opponents - such as hanging explosives, large boulders or walls of buildings that can be pushed. Always pay attention to the red area indicating where the accident will take place. Wait until at least 1 opponent appears in the red area.

If you don't have this trophy despite finishing the game, load any mission with interactive environment elements. Make a quick save before activating the trap and load the save after a successful accident. Keep doing this until you unlock the trophy.

The Picnic

Trophy type: silver - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Have cupcakes during the picnic.

Comment: You can get this trophy in mission 2 - Running Late on Payday. You can get it in the early part of the stage, specifically after "recruiting" McCoy and completing the medical bag tutorial.

Don't go to the area where the game unlocks the gun with the scope. Instead, examine the area shown in the image where you can find a food basket and a picnic cloth. Throw the doctor's bag at this place to trigger an easter egg featuring McCoy and Cooper - this will unlock the trophy.

Lost and Found

Trophy type: silver - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Return the money to the bank.

Comment: You can get this trophy in mission 8 - One Hell of a Night. Rosie, the sheriff's wife, is in the place where you start the mission. Stun and tie her up. Note that the woman dropped the money - add it to the inventory of any character.

In the later part of the mission, you have to infiltrate the bank to pick up unconscious McCoy - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

In the later part of the mission, you have to infiltrate the bank to pick up unconscious McCoy. Get the hero with the money to the room where McCoy was held captive. Pick the money from the inventory and simply throw on the ground. You will get the badge (complete the challenge) and trophy.

Hardcore

Trophy type: silver - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Complete a mission on the Desperado difficulty level.

Comment: Desperado is the highest difficulty level. The good news is you don't have to go through the whole game. You "only" have to complete a single stage, but it cannot be mission 1, which is treated as a prologue and tutorial. It's best to choose mission 2 - Running Late on Payday since it doesn't have many opponents and can be completed rather fast.

The time doesn't stop when you use Showdown Mode while playing on Desperado difficulty level. Also, opponents react quickly when they spot the heroes so try to avoid risky actions and rely on proven methods of eliminating or avoiding bandits. Focus solely on the main objectives and don't waste time unnecessarily, e.g. rescuing all hostages on the map. The Desperado level allows you to save the game - use this option to easily repeat a sequence in case of an alarm.

Power Nap

Trophy type: silver - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Cancl an important healing process.

Comment: This healing process takes place in mission 14 - The Wages of Pain. The mission starts with Isabelle healing Cooper on a nearby hill and the two are initially inactive.

Kill any opponent on the map and order Sanchez to pick them up - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Kill any opponent on the map and order Sanchez to pick them up. Start moving that enemy to the camp at the top of the mountain where Isabelle and Cooper are staying. Plan to throw the body right at Isabelle - the body can't land on Cooper. This will result in mission failure but you will unlock the trophy.

Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Hide 250 bodies.

Comment: This is a simpler version of the Maneater Shrub trophy described earlier.

Another One Bites the Dust

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Kill 500 guards.

Comment: This is a simpler version of the Someone Call The Undertaker trophy.

Goodbye Colorado

Trophy type: bronze - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Blow up the bridge.

Comment: You get this trophy by progressing through the campaign. It can't be missed. Blowing up the railroad bridge is a major part of mission 6 - The Bridge at Eagle Falls.

Goodbye Louisiana

Trophy type: bronze - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Meet Frank on the boat.

Comment: You get this trophy by progressing through the campaign. It can't be missed. The first confrontation with Frank on the ship takes place in the final part of mission 12 - Dirt and Blood.

Package Delivered

Trophy type: bronze - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Deal with DeVitt.

Comment: You get this trophy by progressing through the campaign. It can't be missed. You have to kidnap Devitt's from his hacienda. This is the main objective of mission 15 - A Captain of Industry.

Five Good Shots

Trophy type: bronze - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Defeat Frank.

Comment: You get this trophy by progressing through the campaign. It can't be missed. You defeat Frank outside the cemetery chapel in the final part of mission 16 - The Old and The New.

Wait, Did You Say Marshal?

Trophy type: bronze - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Find Wayne.

Comment: You get this trophy by progressing through the campaign. It can't be missed. Finding Wayne is one of the main objectives in mission 11 - Burn the Queen. He is imprisoned in the cage shown in the image above - it is located in the central village and can only be opened by McCoy.

Like Clockwork

Trophy type: bronze - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Execute the plan with all five characters.

Comment: It's a simple trophy. The only problem is having all five heroes at your disposal. In most missions you control fewer heroes. You can play as five characters in mission 16. In our example, we chose mission 13. However, you will need to rescue Kate and Cooper out of their cages first.

Activate the Showdown Mode and plan an action for all 5 characters. A help is that you don't have to choose actions involving attacking opponents or interacting with an object. You can simply order all the characters to go somewhere. After preparing actions for the characters, start Showdown Mode for the entire team simultaneously.

Vendetta

Trophy type: bronze - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Kill DeVitt.

Comment: You can get this trophy in mission 15 - A Captain of Industry. The main objective is to capture DeVitt in his Hacienda and move him away in a cart. In this case, you have to ignore the mission's main goal and instead murder DeVitt. You can do this in many ways, e.g. kill him during a party or after you kidnap him. Save the game in advance, because it is a "forbidden" activity that, in addition to unlocking the achievement, will fail the mission.

Inferno

Trophy type: bronze - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Burn 5 guards simultaneously by using the kerosene traps in the first part of the mission.

Comment: This trophy can be unlocked in mission 5 - The Magnificent Five. One of the unique mechanics of this mission involves setting fire to large pools of kerosene located in different parts of the farm - the picture above shows an example.

Keep going through the mission until you unlock Hector. Get near any puddle and stun nearby opponents. Knock out and tie up 5 characters. Then move their bodies into any puddle and lay them down. Go for the torch and use it to light that puddle.

Kaboom!

Trophy type: bronze - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Kill 5 guards simultaneously with dynamite.

Comment: This trophy can only be unlocked in mission 2 - Running Late on Payday. It cannot be unlocked in Mission 13 despite the fact that this mission also features dynamites.

A crate with dynamite sits on a hill at the end of the map, above a barricaded railway tunnel - see the picture. Try to avoid eliminating all opponents while you are on the way to it. Upon reaching the dynamite, stun 5 bandits. Tie them up and put them in the same place. Then throw a stick of dynamite at them so that they all die in a single explosion.

M-M-M-M-MONSTER KILL

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Kill 6 guards simultaneously with one skill.

Comment: This trophy offers a lot of freedom. The best idea, in our opinion, is to use Sanchez's sawed-off shotgun - this weapon is capable of killing all regular opponents standing in the red cone symbolizing its range of attack.

Fortunately, you don't have to look specifically for a six-person group. Start with stunning and tying up 6 standard opponents (they can't be Long Coats). Put them all in the same place and use the sawed-off shotgun to kill 6 enemies with a single shot.

Gunslinger's Creed

Trophy type: bronze - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Jump off the tower onto a hay cart.

Comment: This trophy can be unlocked in mission 14 - The Wages of Pain. Go to the farm to the right of the tracks - this is the location where you can scare off cattle. Fortunately, you don't have to complete this mission objective.

Find the tower shown in the image - it is in the area adjacent to the location with cattle. Order any of the heroes to go there (Kate can use her disguise to distract nearby enemies). Kill the single guard on the tower and jump off it into a hay cart.

Sorry Dad!

Trophy type: bronze - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Stun your father.

Comment: This trophy is a small easter egg and you can unlock it in mission 1 - On The Hunt. While following the main character's father, you will have to complete a tutorial on using the Showdown Mode. You will also have to throw a coin at the horse when the bandit is behind the animal.

After the opponent is knocked out, wait for James to run to tie him up. Quickly throw another coin at the horse - the hero's father will lose consciousness as well. This won't fail the mission - simply wait for James to regain consciousness.

Exterminator

Trophy type: bronze - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Kill 10 small animals in one mission.

Comment: It's a rather difficult trophy to obtain because small animals aren't marked even after you highlight all the interactive objects. Zoom in to make it easier to see them.

The picture above shows an example of a rat, one of the small animals encountered in mission 10 - Back Alley Jazz. You can also hunt toads in swamp stages or small snakes found in the wilderness stages. After noticing a small animal, start running towards it - you have to crush it before it escapes. Unfortunately, this trophy require you to kill 10 animals in a single mission - don't finish the stage prematurely. Instead, continue the search until you find and kill 10 of any small animals.

Yakety Sax

Trophy type: bronze - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Make someone follow your footprints for 25 meters.

Comment: You can get this trophy in any mission where you can leave footprints on the mud or sand. We did that in mission 8 - One Hell of a Night. Don't leave footsteps as Kate in disguise, as only Long Coats will react to them.

Take some time to observe the route of any patrol. Leave your footprints on their route. However, don't leave them too soon - footprints can disappear after a while. Start "running away" on the muddy ground from the enemy/enemies - they will start pursuing you after noticing the tracks. There are a lot of long streets covered in mud in mission 8.

Need a Dentist?

Trophy type: bronze - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Find a patient for the dentist.

Comment: You can get this trophy in mission 8 - One Hell of a Night. The dentist is a friendly NPC residing in the southern part of the map - this location is shown in the image. That place is near the square with gallows and the back entrance to the bank.

Stun and tie up any nearby opponent and carry them to that place. Throw the opponent into the cart located right next to the dentist. You will see a funny easter egg showing an "operation" performed on the new patient.

Good Girl

Trophy type: bronze - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Kill 75 guards with Bianca.

Comment: Bianca is the name of the bear trap used by Sanchez. Try to set up as many bear traps as possible and then whistle near them to lure an opponent (try to get attention of only one).

If you haven't got the trophy despite finishing the game, you can do it by grinding. Restart any mission. Make a quick save just before an opponent steps on the bear trap and dies. After a successful action, load the last save to repeat the action. Keep doing this until you unlock the trophy.

Damn Good Marksman

Trophy type: bronze - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Kill 50 guards with McCoy's sniper ability.

Comment: McCoy uses his Bluntline scoped pistol to shoot from a distance. Try to use sniper ammunition regularly - you can find crates with extra bullets during the missions. You should also remember that hitting Long Coats won't kill them. They will simply kneel. Those shots won't count for this achievement.

If you haven't got the trophy despite finishing the game, you can do it by grinding. Restart any mission and get maximum amount of sniper ammunition. Make a quick save and then start shooting at the opponents. After using all the ammunition, load the last save and start shooting again. Keep doing this until you unlock the trophy.

Puppet Master

Trophy type: bronze - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Use Isabelle's mind control on 25 guardians.

Comment: Mind Control is one of Isabelle's skills. This ability can only be used by default on regular bandits and opponents wearing ponchos. To make it work on Long Coats, you have to stun them first by using a different attack. Isabelle starts each mission with a limited number of Mind Control uses. If you play on easy, you will have more uses. Unfortunately, you can't restore them. Try to use all Mind Control charges in every mission with Isabelle.

If you haven't got the trophy despite finishing the game, you can do it by grinding. Restart any mission. Approach a group of opponents and make a quick save. Use all Mind Control charges and then load the previous save. Thanks to this, you will be able to use the skill again. Keep doing this until you unlock the trophy.

Follow Me Darling

Trophy type: bronze - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Make the guards travel a total of 1,000 meters by following Kate.

Comment: Lure is one of Kate's skills, but it's only available if you're using a disguise. Fortunately, you can get a disguise for Katy in many missions. This ability also has two additional limitations - you can only draw away ordinary opponents and it won't work for Gunwomen.

If you haven't got the trophy despite finishing the game, replay any mission where you can get a disguise. You can lure the same bandit multiple times. Kate's skill has an infinite number of uses, but it has a cooldown. Continue this process until you unlock the trophy.

Doubletime

Trophy type: bronze - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Kill 200 guards with Cooper's double shot.

Comment: This trophy requires you to use Cooper's dual revolvers. He can fire them alternately until the ammunition runs out. This is unfortunately a rather difficult achievement to unlock, as the revolvers are poorly suited for stealth.

After completing the game, select easy difficulty and replay any stage with Cooper. Start by replenishing revolver ammunition. Approach a group of opponents and make a quick save. Try to kill them all. After using all the ammunition, load the last save and start shooting again. Keep doing this until you unlock the trophy.

Most Entertaining

Trophy type: gold - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

Trophy type: gold

How to unlock: Complete 5 Baron's Challenges.

Comment: Baron's Challenges take place on maps known from the main campaign. They test your skills in different ways and may have unusual rules, such as killing more than 100 opponents. As progress through the campaign and get badges, you will receive information about unlocking new Baron's Challenges.

You can check them in the stage selection menu - Desperados 3: Trophies - list - Trophies/Achievements - Desperados 3 Guide

You can check them in the stage selection menu. It is worth noting that the developers have added more challenges after the premiere with one of the game's updates. This gives you more choice and you can ignore challenges that cause you trouble. You have to complete 5 of any mini-missions.

Chicken Dinner

Trophy type: gold

How to unlock: Kill 3 golden chickens.

Comment: Check out the separate page called Golden chickens.
