On this page of our guide to Desperados 3 you will find the third part of a detailed walkthrough of mission 3 - Troublemakers in Flagstone. You must murder McBane on the site adjacent to the railroad tracks. Our guide will tell you how to infiltrate the construction site while remaining unnoticed and how to kill McBane by arranging an accident.
In our walkthrough of mission 3 there are references to the map of the world atlas, which you will find on the first page of this chapter. For example, the sign (M3,1) indicates that you should look for the red point with number 1 on the map of mission 3, and the marking (M3,5) indicates that you should look for the blue point with number 5 on the map of mission 3.
You can complete mission objectives in any order. You don't have to eliminate McBane as the third in the order.
McBane stays at the construction site located in the northeastern part of the map (M3,3). There are also railway tracks under construction near the site. The target may be standing at a table or at the wall of the left building - to cleverly get rid of McBane you should be more interested in the latter location. The construction site is a forbidden zone. When you enter it, your heroes will automatically be attacked when detected.
Three main passages (M3,10) lead to the construction site. There is a hole in the western fence and two passages between the southern buildings. We recommend choosing a most eastward passageway. It is not guarded and after sneaking into the construction site you will be able to hide in the bushes (M3,12) (as well as optionally easily get rid of two nearby thugs).
An alternative way to get to the site is to use the ladder (M3,11) next to one of your opponents. You have to watch out for his friend who comes back to this place from time to time. Using a ladder would allow you to get to the 1st floor of the constructed house. One of the enemies is patrolling the ground floor.
We suggest to move with one character towards McBane right away. If you want to complete the mission quickly, you can perform a quick stealth attack (it will trigger an alarm) or try to distract him.
Fortunately, there is a more interesting and civilized way and it consists in crushing McBane with the wall of the constructed house (M3,13). Follow McBane to the west and monitor his range of sight so you don't let him spot you. The destination is shown in the picture above.
Use the ladder to get upstairs when you enter the building under construction. Reaching the location where McBane can be killed by an accident is difficult due to an enemy wearing a poncho. The solution to this problem is to get rid of two bandits at the same time by using the Showdown Mode. We are specifically talking about the opponents from the above picture, because they are watching each other. After you plan your attacks and launch the action, make sure to quickly hide the corpse of the southern enemy in the bushes.
Re-select the character who is on the 1st floor of the building under construction. Approach the wall that is being constructed and wait for McBane to stop by the wall. Interact with the wall to push it over and crush the target. This action will be treated as an unfortunate accident and no alarm should be triggered.
Wait until your opponents have completed their examination of McBane's death site and carefully leave the area (preferably by the same way you've entered this place).
