On this page of our guide to Desperados 3, you will find the fourth part of a detailed walkthrough of mission 3 - Troublemakers in Flagstone. The last and fourth main target of this mission is The Duke, who marches the streets and returns to church from time to time. Our guide explains how to sneak into the church and how to kill Duke by dropping a heavy object on him.
In our walkthrough of mission 3 there are references to the map of the world atlas, which you will find on the first page of this chapter. For example, the sign (M3,1) indicates that you should look for the red point with number 1 on the map of mission 3, and the marking (M3,5) indicates that you should look for the blue point with number 5 on the map of mission 3.
You can complete mission objectives in any order. You don't need to eliminate the Duke as the last target - you can kill him earlier.
The Duke travels north along Flagstone Street (M3,14) and from time to time returns to the church located at the northern end of the map (M3,4). The man is accompanied at all times by two guards. The church grounds are a forbidden zone. When you enter it, your heroes will automatically be attacked when detected.
Don't attack the Duke when he's in a public place, or you'll get the whole neighborhood's attention. Luckily, Duke is the easiest target to eliminate among all your other targets and you just need to control one of your heroes to kill him.
Select Cooper. Ignore the main entrance to the church (M3,15), guarded by the enemy in a poncho. Instead, climb the ivy to the right (or left) of this place (M3,16) to get into the church. It is worth noting that only Cooper can use the ivy to climb up. Hector can't climb anywhere.
To the left of the church there is a funeral (M3,17) and it is best not to wait until it is over. If the opponents manage to spread out, one of them will stand by the ladder to the right of the church. You'd have to get rid of him because you need to use the ladder to get to the church's roof to arrange an accident involving Duke.
Move Cooper to the church tower (M3,4). There's an interactive bell here. As you're probably guessing, you have to wait until Duke stops by the church entrance. Interact with the bell to unhook it. The bell will fall on Duke and kill all the men. This will be treated as an accident, so you don't have to worry about the alarm.
Leave the church grounds in the same way you've entered it (you can jump on your opponent standing by the ladder).
You can complete the mission after you've killed all four targets. Just go to the spot indicated by the game (M3,18) - this is the eastern street of the city. After you reach the destination a cut-scene will launch that ends this level.
