On this page of the Desperados 3 game guide, you can find the second part of the walkthrough description of Mission 15 - A Captain of Industry. As part of this part of the mission, the heroes must work together to activate the device from the rear gardens of the mansion. From our solution, you will also learn how to safely bring Hector and Isabelle to the back of the Hacienda.
Our walkthrough of Mission 15 contains references to the map in the world atlas, which can be found on the first page of this chapter. For example, the designation (M15,5) indicates that you should find the blue point no. 5 on the mission 15 map.

Attaching the device in the back gardens-preliminary information
- Hector will be needed to activate the Contraption in the back gardens (M15,16). This means that you must act as Isabelle and Hector, who begin their mission in hiding (M15,2). They should proceed to a side entrance to the gardens (M15,12) or - even better - to the entrance to the caves (M15,13), so they can infiltrate the back gardens more easily.
- Cooper and Kate can easily reach the back gardens as it is a public location. This duo must use the main entrance to the estate (M15,5), move into the inner courtyard (M15,10), and choose a passageway at the rear of the courtyard. Kate and Cooper are able to assist Hector and Isabelle in ridding the characters of the Hacienda's back gardens.
- In addition to lighting a large bulb, make sure to set off fireworks in one of the two starting areas of the property. This is intended to draw a second group of guests away from the Hacienda courtyard. The setting off of fireworks in the Labyrinth or in the front garden is described on a separate page of solution.
Getting Hector and Isabelle to the back gardens
Hector and Isabelle start by the water (M15,2) and have to travel along a cliff adjacent to Devitt's Hacienda. They must sneak throughout the mission, even after they reach the public areas of the estate later on. Start by directing Isabelle to climb the hedge and lower the ladder for Hector.
Hide in the bushes. Use the ability to combine the long Coat with the "ordinary". You can then kill Hector Long coat and get rid of the other character from this part of the path.
The next enemies are further apart and there is another long Coat among them. It's worth starting by using whistling to draw away a bandit sitting by a campfire. Long coat cannot be easily reached by Hector (he cannot climb vines), but Isabelle can kill a single opponent traveling through the area.
Walk along a stretch of beach (remember the risk of leaving visible footprints on the sand!). On new opponents, you can reuse the connection and then get rid of them in any way you want, e.g. by dragging one of them with a whistle to the set-up, or by distracting one of them with a cat Isabelle.
In the next location, you have to decide how you want to infiltrate the back gardens of the property (M15, 16). The first option includes a side passage (M15,12) and is less appealing for several reasons. First, just reaching the crossing would force an opponent travelling in the area to stop.
Secondly, there are opponents with kerosene lamps around the crossing and this causes Isabelle and Hector to be more easily spotted. You could partially mitigate this by getting the other characters here from the opposite side and distracting your enemies by flirting or blinding them with perfume.
The second option is much better and involves using a cave passage (M15,13). This entrance to the caves is guarded by a Long Coat. You have to wait for the right moment to attack him and dispose of his corpse by throwing it in the water.
Going through the caves will allow you to get to the opposite side of the gardens - this location is shown in the screenshot above.
There are several sentinels in the area, but they can be easily disposed of. Rely on whistling and whistling, as well as the lack of additional light sources in this area is darker and the field of view of some guards is more limited. This will make it easier for you to bypass them or sneak up on them. Hector and Isabelle can use one of the alternative ways to the back gardens (M15,14).
Turn the device on in back gardens
The team's task is to light the large bulb in the back garden (M15,16). This requires you to neutralize all characters in the area - opponents and civilians.
It is worth starting near a large statue (M15,15). Note that you can push the statue when two opponents stop by it (you will gain a badge for this). Eliminating these enemies will allow you to fight m.in. with an opponent in a poncho watching the device.
In the main part of the garden, start by using Kate's flirting and Hector's whistling to draw away and quietly eliminate as many civilians as possible and ordinary opponents. Get rid of it this way m.in. two bandits standing by the generator.
Use Kate to distract one of the opponents in a poncho standing by a large light bulb. This will allow Hector to kill two enemy Long Coats patrolling the area. Before attacking any Long coat, make sure no one is looking in its direction. Also hide the body quickly in the hedge. Finally, take care of your enemies at the main device - take advantage of the combined attack and execute it when no one is walking or looking in their direction.
Activating the device in the back garden (M15,16) requires the cooperation of two team members. Stop by a large light bulb and send Hector to the generator. Make Hector interact with the generator.
Switch to Cooper and wait until you can use an interactive lever to light the bulb. If you're late with this action, just restart the generator.
Lighting the bulb will lead to some of the party guests leaving the central courtyard (M15,10).
