On this page of the Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart game guide we have prepared the first part of the walkthrough for exploring the Blizar Prime planet and its Blizar Mines. In our walkthrough you can find out, among other things, how to use the Blizon Crystals to travel between dimensions, how to override the lockdown and how to reach the central camp occupied by the miners.
Search for Phase Quartz
After reaching Blizar Prime, you will discover a destroyed planet where a cataclysmic event took place. You will be able to start exploring the parts of the mines that have not been completely destroyed.
Not far from the starting point is the first Blizon crystal and they are also marked on the map of the area. By hitting Blizons with melee weapons you can travel between dimensions. In the case of Blizar Prime, you can travel between the current "apocalyptic" dimension and an alternate pre-cataclysmic dimension where mining still takes place under the supervision of miners.
Notice that you can head towards a passage that was blocked in the post-apocalyptic dimension. Expect to encounter small monsters. Eliminating them should not be too problematic.
Once inside the building, it will turn out that you need to remove the lockdown - its another objective of this mission. Just a few steps away Mrs. Zurkon has set up store, but there are no new weapons for sale at this time.
Override the lockdown
Hit the new blizon crystal in this room to return to the dimension after the cataclysm. You will meet the Mysterious Stranger.
You have to start a journey in which you have to use the magnetic surfaces on which Rivet can automatically walk by using Magneboots. The tricky part is that you will find it necessary to jump around the surrounding magnetic paths. You always have to face the adjacent path in order for a hexagon-shaped mark to appear on it (we marked it on the example shown in the picture). Then press Circle button to initiate the jump.
Expect to encounter minions of Nefarious who can attack from a distance. While attacking them, look for opportunities to hit the explosive red crates which are flying in space.
Continue using the magnetic paths and jumping to the next ones until you get close to the next blizon crystal marked on the picture.
Hitting the blizon will allow you to travel to a dimension before the cataclysm. In order to remove the lockdown, you must interact with the console in the above image, which you will find next to the blizon.
Head to the Mining Hub
The Mining Hub is in the middle of the map, and you cannot easily reach it by walking in a straight line. You must use the road on the southern part of the map.
As you explore this area, avoid falling into the lava - it's a good idea to help yourself with double jumps. Eliminate small monsters and explore the southernmost ledges along the way. You will notice a Gold Bolt. You can reach it from behind (by jumping on the ledges by the lava) to add it to your collection.
Head west, then turn north. A cut-scene will alert you that Nefarious' thugs on flying motorcycles have just appeared. To eliminate them, you can use the Negatron Collider or the regular Burst Pistol. It is important to use an effective weapon that can fire from a greater distance. Different varieties of grenades, for example, will not work very well for eliminating flying enemies.
After the battles, stand on the large platform that will begin the journey to the mining Hub. Once you get there, you will receive a mission objective to locate the Chief Engineer. We have described this on one of the following pages of our walkthrough.
Before you focus on the main and side mission objectives look around the miners' camp. You can find Mrs. Zurkon store here, but once again she will not offer anything new. Pay attention to the blizon crystal in picture 1 - you can reach it from behind and transport yourself to the dimension after the cataclysm for a moment.
You will only find large levitating ledges in the area where the miners' camp was located. However, pay attention to the visible Gold Bolt on the higher ledge (picture 2). Getting to consists in jumping over ledges, eliminating enemies, and taking advantage of new magnetic paths. After getting the treasure, return to the blizon crystal and hit it again to get back to the mining center.
