On this page of the Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart game guide is the second part of the exploration walkthrough for the planet Blizar Prime. The following walkthrough is for an optional mission objective that deals with locating Tulio. We explain Tulio's whereabouts and how to help her protect the VAC-U-SUK machine.
Find the missing chef
This optional mission objective is in your log from the very beginning of your stay on the planet Blizar Prime, but you can only tackle it once you reach the miners' camp in the dimension before the cataclysm.
To start this quest, use the northeast exit of the mining camp.
Not long after you start exploring, you will meet another Sous Chef and after a conversation, continue on. Eliminate the small monsters and explorr the side left area shown in the picture along the way. You must wait for a good moment to avoid contact with lava. Quickly make two jumps before another eruption occurs.
You will reach a pocket dimension. Exploring it is optional and will allow you to get an armor piece.
As you continue, keep an eye out for areas where lava is spewing out at regular intervals. Deal with overgrown wasps along the way.
Ultimately, you must reach the part of the cave where the new blizon is located . Hit it.
You will find yourself in a post-apocalyptic dimension. You must approach the new magnetic path and make a jump towards it (Circle). Repeat this maneuver to reach the next rift.
In the area marked on the above screenshot, you will find a gold bolt. To reach it, you have to go north in the pre-cataclysmic dimension and hit the northern blizon to move to a new area in the post-cataclysmic dimension.
In order to continue the described side quest, you must travel south in the dimension before the cataclysm. Along the way, you will encounter platforms that launch the character to a great height. You'll also need to complete a sequence of bouncing off vertical walls to reach a higher rock ledge.
The path will lead you to Chef Tulio and from the conversation you will learn that you will be able to help her.
Defend VAC-U-SUK
The plan is to protect the VAC-U-SUK machine that Chef Tulio plans to use to extract the honey and prepare the dish.
You can look around the area first (look out for supply crates and crevices, among other things) or you can use the crank to start the defense quest right away.
You will receive messages about monsters appearing and whether they are heading towards the pump via the left path or the right path. You can easily reach any of them by pulling yourself from a greater distance to the rift.
Pay attention to the pressure plates that activate fire traps, which you must position yourself on after receiving the appropriate command - an example is shown in the picture. Using the platforms for the first time is required, but they are optional in the upcoming main battle. Still, they are great for dealing area damage and weakening groups of enemies.
Additional Note - There may be minor bugs in this battle that make it difficult to complete the battles. If the game doesn't automatically move on to the next combat phase, then explore the area at the other end of this location, i.e. the place where the monsters pop out of the lava (above image). Some of them may stutter there and you must personally kill them to proceed to the next phase of the battle.
The main battle ahead of you is more difficult because a pump energy bar has appeared on the screen and you cannot make it drop to 0%. During the battles:
- Watch places where new monsters appear and go there as soon as possible (pulling yourself towards the rifts is faster than running to the location),
- make sure to use the fire trap platforms,
- attack enemies that are close to the pump,
- Consider calling Mr. Mushroom to assist in attacking enemies.
Flying enemies can be slightly more problematic. To kill them quickly, it is best to use the Negatron Collider or other strong varieties of firearms for medium/long range combat.
If you have successfully completed the battle, you will receive a reward from chef Tulio - it will be spyobot (one of the collectibles of this mission).
Next to it there is a large platform, with the help of which you can easily and quickly return to the central miners' camp in order to resume the main mission.
