To confidently begin your gameplay in the world of RAGE 2 we have prepared a page with starting tips. With this tips, you can effectively cope with first missions available in RAGE 2. In addition, they will facilitate your exploration of the world and help you with first battles with opponents.

Collect all Arks

Arks contain skills and a variety of weapons. The best solution is to open a few ARKS before some missions to get more skills and abilities that may aid you in difficult circumstances.

In the Arks you will gain various skills, including Dash Strike, Slam, Shatter, Vortex, Defibrillation or Barrier.

Search for balloons and relax

While exploring the map in RAGE 2 you may encounter balloons floating in the air. If you see such an object, jump out of the car and shoot it down. I'll explain right away that knocking down balloons doesn't get you anything. Although, over time you may get an achievement.

To achieve Can't Stop Pop trophy you must shoot down 17 balloons.

Develop your hero

In RAGE 2 you can get up to eleven nanorite skills. These are special abilities that make it easier to fight opponents and explore the game world. Every ability can be improved. All the skills we have described on a separate page of our guide: these sections contain information about the ways of using them.

Develop your vehicle

Phoenix can be developed in order to improve performance on the battlefield. Phoenix has 9 skills that you can acquire:

Gatling Gun - it is mounted on the hood of the car, which will quickly fire at enemies.

Safe Mode - increases the amount of damage that the car is able to take.

Blast - with this skill, you can create an energy beam that deactivates nearby shields.

Cruise Missile - automatically aims at the target and launches the missile in the direction of the target.

Reinforced Chassis - also increases the damage that the car may take.

Ejector Seat - allows you to quickly jump out of the car.

20MM Cannons - much powerful guns installed on the vehicle used to attack enemies.

Hellfire Mortar - mortar shells, which independently travel at the target.

Nanotrite Skin - another update that increases the durability of the car.

Upgrades do not exclude each other, you can buy everything at once to make your car almost invulnerable.

Train and support your allies

During your journey through the map of RAGE 2, you may level up your allies and companions. We have prepared a separate section in our guide that contains information about every ally and how he/she may help during various activities. Thanks to them you will get new skills that may help you during combat and exploration.

Check out all weapons

In RAGE 2 you will get at your disposal: Ranger Assault Rifle, Settler Assault Rifle, Combat Shotgun, Firestorm Pistol, Revolver, Settler Pistol, Sidewinder Pistol, Wingstick, Smart Rocket Launcher, Grav-Dart Launcher, Hyper-Cannon, Charged Plasma Cannon, BFG 9000. After obtaining each weapon, check it out in the open world to know how it may be used in combat.

Play at a high difficulty level

RAGE 2 is not a demanding game in case of player skills. Immediately after the prologue you will have access to the entire game world. If you play at a low level of difficulty, you will be able to perform almost all activities in the first hours of the game.

If you don't want to be invincible from the start, begin the game with high difficulty. This way you will feel the progress of your character. Also, you will be able to enjoy new weapons and skills.

Spend a lot of time to explore additional locations on the map.

RAGE 2 has quite short story campaign, but it compensates this by a large number of side activities. Traveling on the map, you can destroy the bandits dens, open Arks, capture sentries, check further places to explore or even destroy electro-forges. These actions can develop your character, give you new weapons, skills and a large amount of raw materials.

At the very beginning of the game monitor the level of difficulty. Each location has its own difficulty level, ranging from 1 to 10. So, at the beginning aim in such forms of activity that do not exceed 5th difficulty level.

Use focus to highlight enemy positions

Focus is a skill that allows you to highlight the positions of opponents and important objects. Thus, you will be able to estimate how many opponents are in your area. This will help you not only in the selection of ideal tactics, but also in the search for enemies, if you cannot find those to complete the entire location.

Search for raw materials and destroy chests.

After completing the activity available on the map try to collect all possible resources. They are in wooden chests, containers and Ark chests. Collecting raw materials is a quick and inexpensive way to supplement your character's inventory. Thus, you will never have to worry about shopping and lack of ammunition.

The car will not fix itself.

In the process of exploring the world, as well as many battles your car will be constantly damaged. However, to fix your car, you just need to get out of it and stand in front of its hood. If you do so, a new option will appear. Just hold the appropriate key and your hero will fix your car.

Shatter and Vortex are very helpful in eliminating enemies

Shatter and Vortex are the two best skills you can get in the game. They will allow you to quickly eliminate opponents.

Shatter allows you to jump at a specific target (bandit / mutant) and release powerful energy that will throw the enemy into the air. The vortex, on the contrary, allows to attract and pull several opponents to one place. Both of these abilities are great for destroying large groups of enemies.

Do not forget to turn on the overload.

This ability gives you a powerful strength enhancement, which allows you to kill enemies and regenerate health much faster. This ability gives you a great advantage over your opponents. Constantly manage the indicator to be safe and use it as soon as possible.

Do not attack convoys if your car has no upgrades.

Convoys appear in random places on the map, in your area. Destruction of the convoy will provide you with car repair parts and valuable raw materials. However, before you get to battle with the convoy improve your car. Mount a better cannon and strengthen your Phoenix.

Purchase all basic and standard projects as soon as possible.

Immediately after completing the prologue buy all major projects, these strengthen your basic skills as well as allow you to upgrade Phoenix.

After completing story missions, carefully study all the skills and develop the remaining project trees to maximize your character build.

During exploration of location search for Ark chests.

In most places there are some Ark chests to loot. These are large objects where you can find rare raw materials - for example, required to upgrade skills. These resources can be purchased in the store, however, usually their prices are very high, around $1,000 for a unit

Watch out for grenades.

Your opponents love to throw grenades. Try to avoid them, so as not to waste your health points. To avoid grenade explosion, use dash skill. Another way to avoid grenades is to buy projects:

1. Grenade tennis - allows you to reflect grenades.
2. Grenade Smash tennis - you may pick up enemy grenades and throw them in other places.
3. Topspin grenade tennis - reflected grenades get back to the enemy who threw them.

Every Ark has two containers with supplies.

On the world map you will find 12 Arks. In each of them you can get additional supplies. On both sides of the Ark there are various resources, such as ammunition.

Avoid falling from a great height.

Despite the fact that RAGE 2 is a very fast shooter with lots of action and explosions your hero does not like jumping from a great height. If you jump off some building or some mountain, you can count on instant death of your hero. Try to avoid falling down and always use stairs or ladders.

Talk to the NPCs in the cities.

Unique signs may appear over head of some characters which indicates that you may speak with this particular NPC. Such a character will tell you his story, get you a job and pay you for it as a reward. Thus, you can earn a lot of money by performing side activities and further explore the map.

Visit Cyber Doctor on your first visit to Wellspring.

Cyber Doctor is a seller available in Wellspring. You can buy permanent stat upgrades from him. When you first visit this city, take a look at it and see if you can upgrade your character in any way. It'll make you even stronger.

Dr. Kvasir's projects will help you in finding loot.

To unlock access to projects from the Search & Recover category, you need to perform the first task of the mission called Ground Control. It requires you to locate Dr. Kvasir at Sekreto Wetlands. When you find him, you will get very important projects. Among the many perks you can find those that allow you to quickly find raw materials and valuable boxes:

1. Datapad Tracking - allows you to track data pads.
2. Embedded Feltrite Tracking - helps in discovering feltrite.
3. Spy Drone Tracking - determines the position of enemy drones.
4. Storage Container Tracking - detects containers.
5. Ark Chest Tracking - detects chests available on the Ark sites.

From the beginning, kill enemies with a rocket launcher and a wingstick.

To get the Postmodern Picasso achievement and Off With Their Heads it is necessary to use rocket launcher and wingstick from the very beginning of the game. These achievements rely on getting rid of a large number of opponents.

Destruction of wooden barriers

Many buildings in RAGE 2 have barricaded doors and windows. If these barriers are green, they can be destroyed. Thus, you can open the entrance to many rooms offered in a certain area.
