On this page of our trophy guide to RAGE 2 we have described the bronze trophy - Gonevoy. Achievement is awarded for killing one leader of a convoy. Below you will find a complete set of information on how to find convoys, how to prepare for an attack on the convoy, how to exclude weaker vehicles from the convoy and how to deal with the leader of the convoy.
To get this achievement you simply need to destroy one convoy and its leader. There are many more of those in the game world. If some convoy is very problematic for you, just choose another one. After winning the trophy, you can stop further attacks on convoys or continue them to get new auto parts, and other rewards.
Preparations to attack the convoy
Before the battle with the enemy convoy, it is necessary to prepare well, as this is one of the more complex and more demanding additional activity of the game. Below we have made the most important steps of such preparation. Not all of these actions are mandatory, but after taking care of all these things, it will be easier to find and defeat the convoy.
By default the game does not allow you to track convoys, but you do not need to, fortunately, spend time searching for them. By completing the Wasteland Celebrity story mission, you get access to a new tree in projects - Capture & Control. One of the projects of the first class is the Convoy Locator. Since the acquisition of it, arriving convoys will be marked on the world map with tire icons.
An important part of preparations for a meeting with the convoy is to upgrade Phoenix (the default vehicle), although only one of upgrades is mandatory. Here we are talking about improving the Blast, which after charging can shoot a beam of energy. The use of this enhancement will be required to destroy the convoy leader.
Buying other improvements is optional, but nevertheless we recommend you to invest at least in a Cruise Missile. It will help you both destroy vehicles with the guards and weaken the leader.
Before attacking any convoy, you should also check the condition of the vehicle:
- If Phoenix is damaged, it is necessary to restore it to 100% durability - check more details in the How to repair the car? section of our guide.
- If you don't have a full supply of ammo, then take a look around it in the game world or buy it in one of the car shops - check more details in the How to get vehicle ammo? section of our guide.
The attack on the convoy
Once you come to the enemy convoy, do not try to immediately attack the leader, that is the biggest vehicle. Focus on small vehicles that are part of the convoy.
You can use any weapon to attack vehicles from the convoy. If you have a large supply of cruise missiles - it is now worth using them (hold L1/LB to track the enemy car). Otherwise, rely on standard rifles and cannons.
In some enemy vehicles, you can get information that they are protected by Energy Shields. To solve this problem, stop shooting and help yourself with the nitro to get closer to these vehicles. Hold the Blast charge button (triangle on PS4 or Y on Xbox One) and release a bundle of power that will get rid enemy's shields. Only from now on, use the on-board weapons.
In the process of pursuing the convoy keep in mind that vehicles will leave some traps on the road (example in the picture). A universal way to deal with this problem is to drive down to the side of the road so you can bypass all the traps. In addition, with this method, the convoy will not be able to escape from the hero.
The leader of the convoy should be taken care off only after elimination of all minor vanguards. Also, in this case, do not forget to avoid the traps, especially since they may differ in appearance and effects. Your reactions should be the same - pull over to get around them.
You should always start from getting close to the convoy leader and using the Blast attack. This action will reveal all weak spots of the leader's vehicle.
Fire at weak points of the convoy leader's car. You can use any weapon, and if you have a weapon of great striking power, it will increase the chances of destroying the weak points. If you fail and weak spots get hidden again, simply repeat the above actions with the Blast ability.
After you manage to destroy all weak spots of the convoy leader vehicle - it will explode. You will get a trophy and, in addition, auto parts and reputation.
