After completing the prologue in RAGE 2 you will immediately get access to a gigantic world map. It is divided into 6 main parts: Twisting Canyons, Sekreto Wetlands, The Wilds, Broken Tract, Torn Plains, Dune Sea. Each part of the map is different from the appearance of the area, some of them are typical deserts, others are full of canyons and dangerous roads.

What locations are available in the game?
In RAGE 2 you can find the following points of interest:
- Authority Sentry;
- Pit stops;
- Power stations;
- Road block;
- Bandit Dens;
- Crusher Nests;
- Electro Forges;
- Mutie nests;
- Meteorites;
- Arks;
- Ranger Echos.
Each of these sites will allow you to get different reward for completing it. In addition, completion of such activities strengthens your allies.
How to find a specific location?
Map exploration in RAGE 2 can be performed and accomplished in several various ways. The easiest way is to drive on the map and perform the actions that appear on it. Thus, you will visit every corner of the map.
If it is too time consuming for you, you can talk to NPCs available in the cities or collect bounty boards and data pads. These often contain information about nearby locations. If you complete the location, which you've learned about from a NPC you get a reward - a few hundred dollars.
What will I get for performing a specific activity?
Most of the locations available in the RAGE 2 have two objectives - the main and additional one. The main objective is usually the destruction of some object, such as a generator or elimination of all enemies in a specified area. Optimal objective are those that depend on the raw materials available on the site, such as ark chests or containers. For completing all objectives available on the site you will get extra money and more raw materials.
