On this page of our Genshin Impact guide, we explain how to defeat Jadeplume Terrorshroom, a field boss appearing in Sumeru region that was introduced with the release of patch 3.0. We prepared general tips for the fight, show where to find the boss and list what rewards are there to collect after defeating it.
Location of Jadeplume Terrorshroom
Jadeplume Terrorshroom is found in western Vanarana, in Sumeru region. The easiest way to enter the location with him is using a portal that is marked on the world map (purple marker). To reach the portal, you need to attract to it by pressing the correct combination of buttons (L1 square).
When entering the arena through the portal, remember to turn around and activate Teleport Waypoint before starting the battle. This will allow you to shorten the time needed to reach the boss on later runs.
Rewards
For defeating a field boss, your guaranteed reward will be 200 Adventure EXP. Depending on the difficulty level you've chosen for the encounter, you may have a higher chance of looting reagents or artifacts of higher rarity. When it comes to this boss, these are mainly Gladiator's Finale or Wanderer's Troupe sets. Finally, you'll also receive Nagadus Emeralds, which are needed to develop Dendro characters.
General tips
- To be able to receive rewards for this fight, you need to spend 40 Original Resin points.
- Despite the in-game advice to not take an Electro character when constructing a party for the encounter, it is worth having such a hero in the team. True, Electro attacks make the boss fill up his rage bar, and when this gauge is filled in full, Jadeplume Terrorshroom will launch a powerful attack. However, it is easy to avoid, and after the attack is concluded, the boss falls to the ground for around 15 seconds, and this is when you can deal additional damage through your attacks.
- However, if you have problems with his Rage form and don't want to charge it additionally, consider switching the Electro character for a Pyro one. Pyro attacks clear the boss's Rage bar and applies Burning status to him which causes additional damage over time to him.
- If Burning, the boss can summon Spores. They do not deal much damage but nevertheless make the battle more difficult, so it is recommended to take care of them first unless the boss is on the verge of defeat. If the latter, simply go in to eliminate him.
How to beat?
From the very beginning of the encounter, you should aggressively close the distance to the boss and attack him. It's up to you what element/combat style you use. Pyro attacks can apply a damage over time effect on the boss. Additionally, they deplete the boss's rage bar, but when Burning, Jadeplume Terrorshroom can summon minions in form of Spores that will help him in combat.
Electro attacks fill up the rage bar, and when it reaches completion, he will use one of three possible powerful attacks. The first is firing a large number of green projectiles that home towards the team members. However, they are easily avoidable, just run to the right.
The second attack involves blindly swinging 4 times. This is the easiest move to avoid, as you only need to get away from the boss and wait for him to enter exhaustion state. During exhaustion phase, you'll have 15 seconds to go all in with your attacks without worrying about receiving damage.
However, the third attack, the charge, is the most dangerous. The second one will ensue right after performing the first one. After both charges, the boss will also enter exhaustion phase, falling to the ground. If you have trouble avoiding the charges, you can Shield up to mitigate the attack without losing HP.
Additionally, watch out for signaled attacks of the boss. Usually, they are highlighted in green and cover a certain area. All you have to do is to avoid the attack and wait for the animation to end, then return with attacks of your own.
Do not approach the boss when he starts to release a wave of Spores around himself. You may receive serious damage if you do so. Wait out this attack or start eliminating Spores if Jadeplume Terrorshroom has summoned them.
