General information
Ganyu is a 5-star hero representing Cryo element whose weapon of choice is a bow. Ganyu is perfect for the Main DPS role thanks to his high Crit DMG and that his attacks are AoEs targeting multiple enemies at the same time.
When building her, you should mainly focus on increasing ATK, Cryo DMG, and Crit Rate and Crit DMG.
Best team compositions
- Melt Main DPS - Ganyu/Xiangling/Bennet/Diona
- Cryo Sub DPS - Ganyu/Childe/Shenhe/Kokomi
Melt Main DPS Build
In this build, Ganyu's assumed playstyle will be applying Cryo status and dealing damage in unison with Pyro characters to induce Melt reaction.
- Artifacts - 4x Shimenawa's Reminiscence
- Weapons - Aqua Simulacra/Prototype Crescent
For the purpose of this build, only good artifact set will be 4x Shimenawa's Reminiscence. With x2 Reminiscence, your ATK is improved by 18%, and with x4, when you have 15 or more Energy, you can spend it to receive 50% ATK DMG for normal, charged, or plunging attacks.
When it comes to weapon, we recommend Aqua Simulcra. This 5-star weapon will improve Crit DMG even more, and this stat is already high with Ganyu. Moreover, the weapon gives a 16% bonus to HP. This is very useful with Ganyu, as his weakness is low base HP. Finally, if the enemy is close enough to the wielder of Aqua SImulcra, damage dealt to him is increased by 26%.
An alternative option for F2P players, who don't want to spend too much on the game, is Prototype Crescent. This bow can be crafted based on materials that are obtainable through non-premium means. This weapon improves ATK, and moreover, arrows fired at enemies' weak points increase movement speed by 10% and ATK by 36% for 10 seconds.
Cryo Sub DPS Build
In this build, Ganyu will mainly focus on using Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst as often and as effectively as possible to apply Cryo and freeze enemies, which with the right team composition, is definitely a desired effect.
- Artifacts - 2x Blizzard Strayer, 2x Noblesse Oblige
- Weapons - Elegy of the End/Favonius Warbow
When it comes to recommended artifacts, you can use a mix of 2x Blizzard Strayer and 2x Noblesse Oblige. With these equipped, you receive 15% additional Cryo DMG and 20% Elemental Burst DMG. This setup works well with this build, as in its assumptions you'll mainly use Elemental Burst and Elemental Skill to deal Cryo DMG and freeze enemies.
When it comes to weapons, we have Elegy of the End - this 5-star weapon is a little difficult to obtain. With Elegy of the End, you'll receive additional Energy Recharge that scales with weapon level. Moreover, you receive 60 Elemental Mastery. Finally, when Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst strikes an enemy, you receive Sigil of Remembrance. This effect can be applied even when the owner of the bow is not on the battlefield. After stacking the effect 4 times, for 12 seconds, Elemental Mastery of all team members is increased by 100 and ATK by 20%.
The second choice which is worth considering, is 4-star Favonius Warbow. This bow gives a bonus to Energy Recharge. Moreover, Crits have a 60% chance of creating an Elemental Orb which when picked up gives 6 Energy. This effect may occur once every 12 seconds.
Talents
Talents are special abilities divided into Combat and Passive categories. In case of Ganyu, you should focus on developing your available talents in this order:
- Melt Main DPS - Liutian Archery, Celestial Shower, Trail of the Qilin
- Freezing Sub DPS - Celestial Shower, Liutian Archery, Trail of the Qilin
Constellations
Ganyu, as a 5-star character, is formidable already on C0. His damage dealing output is huge regardless of the build and has a multitude of viable team variants. However, it is worth noting, that the best constellation for her is C1. With C1, she can lower enemy resistance to Cryo by 15%, and you get 2 more Energy with each struck hit.
