This page of the guide to Horizon 2 Forbidden West explains how to obtain Skill Points. You need to know this in order to buy new skills, increase Aloy's combat capabilities or obtain new moves and attacks.
Method 1 - Leveling up
The most obvious way of gaining skill points is leveling up. We've listed some tips on how to quickly obtain XP on a separate page: Experience - how to amass quickly?
Method 2 - Completing missions and other optional activities
You should know that leveling Aloy up isn't the only way of getting skill points. You can also obtain them in form of rewards.
Each time you get a new quest you should take a look at your journal and browse the quest rewards (example pictured). Most quests reward you with skill points. Depending on how important and how complex the quest is, you can obtain a single or several skill points.
The same applies to specific optional activities such as rebel camps, cauldrons or relic ruins. Completing the activity may reward you with skill points (as well as other prizes: XP, resources, weapons).
We recommend using both of these methods, as the game has quite a few useful unlockable skills, the best of which cost several skill points. You need every point you can get.
