This page of our Ghost of Tsushima guide contains a detailed walkthrough of Eternal Blue Sky story quest. The mission involves attacking Izumi Port, the main Mongol base. Our walkthrough will help you in finding and defeating Khan, the leader of Mongols. In all, you'll participate in two different clashes against Khan.

Speak with Yuna and other allies
This mission can be picked up after completing another story quest - Heart of the Jito. Before embarking on this quest, develop your hero as much as possible and upgrade his equipment. Don't forget to restock on gadgets. During this quest, you'll take part in many battles, including a two-phase boss encounter.
Meet Yuna again at the Jogaku Temple. Before you begin the mission, you can talk to other important NPCs - Norio, Ishikawa (probably twice), Kenji, and Lady Masako. Finally, talk to Yuna again - you'll be taken to the vicinity of Izumi Port.
Defeat the Khan's reinforcements
Fighting with Mongol soldiers begins shortly after entering the fishing village. During the battle, remember to protect yourself from archer attacks. If you've unlocked Moon Stance, use it on opponents with large shields. Fighting them from a different stance can be very troublesome.
During the fight, a situation occurs where Yuna falls and begins to bleed out. Now here is what you must do - get rid of nearby enemies quickly or use a smoke bomb to distract them, then approach Yuna as fast as possible and revive her.
Some archers fire poison arrows which can hurt Jin. Don't forget to heal if necessary and focus on archers to avoid further damage. After the battle is over, talk to Yuna.
Location: Izumi Port
Start by meeting with Norio - the location is a vantage point nearby Izumi Port. As you embark on this infiltration mission alone, it is best to avoid direct combat with the enemy. Sneak in and focus on getting to your destination.
In this part of the mission, you must cross the frozen riverbed shown in the picture. When enemies are on the move, hide in tall bushes growing on the sides.
Climb the watchtower to locate the Khan
Once out of the riverbed, continue sneaking, especially since there are many strong enemies in the area. Walking on the roofs of buildings and the ropes that connect neighbouring roofs can help you avoid detection. The vantage point you need to reach is the observation tower visible in the distance.
There are two guards near the ladder leading to the observation tower. You can distract them with your wind chimes or wait for an opportunity to sneak up to the ladder. This time, there is no scouting section, as after you climb the tower, a cut-scene depicting Shimura and his men attacking will be activated.
Confront the Khan at the manor house
You have to head for the estate. Along the way, you will encounter many Mongols. Attacking them is optional, but you may catch a few of them with sneak attacks. The best idea, however, is to avoid fighting and run away from your opponents, as you don't want to face Khan wounded.
You have to reach the gate and squeeze through the gap. Before you do that, replenish your health and equip armor. Once you get to the courtyard of the mansion, you'll be confronted by the boss.
Khan - first encounter
The duel with Khan begins after entering the courtyard of the mansion. It's a one-on-one clash, so you can focus entirely on the boss.
You cannot use gadgets during the fight, but aside from your katana, you can use special melee attacks (the ones which you've managed to unlock during the game)
The key to winning is to stay away from Khan when he uses his red attacks.
Khan primarily likes to perform three large swings with his spear. However, don't get too close to him too soon, as after leading with three attacks, he will still make his fourth red attack.
The boss's other red attack is the one that starts with a simple swing. You have to react in advance because the incoming red attack has a lot of range. Get away from Khan as soon as possible after you see him perform this combination.
Once the animation of Jin's and Khan wrestling appears, the boss also begins to use blue attacks. As a reminder - parrying blue attacks is only possible if you've acquired Unyielding Sword Parry skill. Otherwise, treat them the same as red attacks and avoid them.
Khan is best attacked when he launches regular or blue attacks. The same as with earlier bosses, you can utilize perfect parries (activated pressing L1 in the right moment - you need to buy this skill) to weaken the boss. However, you can just as well go without them. Relying on normal parries and counter-attacks will simply lengthen the entire battle.
Unfortunately, you won't be able to kill Khan now. The first duel ends when the boss is on the verge of dying. Khan temporarily blinds the hero and escapes to his ship.
Stop Khan before he escapes
You have to head towards a large ship moored in the harbor because that's where the Khan escaped. Along the way, you'll encounter normal enemies that will attempt to stop you.
The best idea is to avoid fights and focus on getting to the ship. The point is to avoid being hit in order to enter the second battle with Khan with full health. You can target enemy archers and deal with them - make use of parries/dodges to avoid being hit by arrows.
Khan - second duel with boss
The second confrontation with Khan begins after you board the Mongol ship. This clash is significantly different than the first one.
- The Khan is accompanied by bodyguards. Several of them will take part in the battle from the beginning, others will appear as the fight progresses.
- You can freely use all abilities and gadgets. You can use all available attacks (including Ghost Stance) and gadgets to deal damage to the boss or his aides.
- The game does not show Khan's energy bar. That doesn't mean the boss is any less powerful. The battle will last a while, as you need to execute many successful attacks in order to defeat Khan.
When the first phase of the battle begins, focus on attacking and killing the standard opponents on board the ship first. Unfortunately, the game won't make it easy, as you'll have to face enemies with shields, spears, or Brutes.
Remember to adjust Jin's stance following the targeted opponent. Make use of bombs or Kunai knives. However, don't use all gadgets at once, as you may run out in the final part of the fight.
Khan initially stays on the upper deck, but after getting rid of most of his bodyguards, he joins the battle himself. Boss uses the same skills as during the first clash.
- Avoid Khan's red attacks and remember that some of them are performed in combinations.
- Don't forget to parry regular and blue attacks (remember that you need Perfect Parry skill to parry blue attacks) These are divided into normal parries or perfect ones that deal more damage.
It's worth reminding that using your katana is not the only way to hurt your opponent. You can weaken Khan by using, for example, sticky bombs and kunai knives, as well blind him using smoke bombs. It should make it easier for you to stop his attacks and return with attacks of your own.
The smaller enemies will appear during the fight, attempting to engage you. It is best to take care of them as they appear, so they don't interrupt the fight by throwing Jin off balance and exposing him to Khan's attacks.
The first phase of the fight ends with a brief cut-scene depicting the Khan being thrown off balance.
In the second phase of the battle, more Mongol troops approach. You must resume attacking standard enemies. A group of archers will appear on the upper deck. It's a good idea to attack them with a bow - aim straight at the archers or at the red barrels nearby.
When fighting standard opponents, keep away from Khan so that the boss doesn't interrupt your actions and engage with attacks of his own.
The second phase of the clash ends once you've weakened the Khan enough. Look for the opportunity to press Triangle after the button icon appears on the screen (this is shown in the image above). Jin launches an attack which destroys boss's spear.
In the third phase of the fight, Khan will equip his sword. The boss can set his weapon on fire, which means having to perform additional dodges in response to boss's red attacks. If you catch on fire, roll quickly to stop losing health points.
As in the previous two phases of the battle, new enemies will appear on the main deck of the ship. First, locate and kill new archers, for they will include opponents who are able to shoot flaming and poison arrows. In case of poisoning, quickly replenish your health.
Fight until a new cut-scene activates that depict the boss being thrown off balance. Khan will get tired and cease his attacks. This is an opportunity to finally defeat the boss. Approach him and push Triangle a few times to deprive him of his sword and shield.
A final Katana attack will stab the boss in the chest. Jin then murders Chan by decapitating him.
Follow Yuna
After you regain control of Jin, you will be on horseback and traveling with Yuna. As always, the chosen dialogue options do not play a significant role. You will soon reach the point where the mission will end.
