Half Bow

Obtaining this weapon is mandatory - it is given to you in The Tale of Sensei Ishikawa story quest. It is one of the first quests which takes place after completing the prologue.

During the quest, Jin accompanies Ishikawa. Further along the way, sensei will automatically give the bow to the hero. You'll also get an opportunity to practice archery straight away.

A short bow inflicts medium damage, but can release more shots faster. It also allows shooting from a crouched position which makes it easier to attack enemies unnoticed.

Regular and flame arrows

Regular arrows are available from the beginning - Ghost of Tsushima: Bow - where to find one? - Character development and equipment - Ghost of Tsushima Guide, Walkthrough

Regular arrows are available from the beginning. They are good for attacking exposed parts of the body, but are unable to penetrate armor or headgear. So you can't use them on all kinds of enemies.

Flaming Arrows have to be unlocked during the course of the game. Engage in side quests received from Sensei Ishikawa until you reach The Way of the Bow. With flaming arrows, you can target both opponents and certain elements of the environment, such as high-growing grass. Hitting an element of the environment enables you to set a few enemies on fire with a single shot.

Long bow;

The Longbow is not acquired during the story quests - Ghost of Tsushima: Bow - where to find one? - Character development and equipment - Ghost of Tsushima Guide, Walkthrough

The Longbow is not acquired during the story quests. To get it, you need to complete a side quest called The Curse of Uchitsune.

The Curse of Uchitsune begins after finding the musician in Hiyoshi village in Izuhara (the first region available).

2 - Ghost of Tsushima: Bow - where to find one? - Character development and equipment - Ghost of Tsushima Guide, Walkthrough
During this quest, Jin will eventually reach a location where a long bow lies on an altar - Ghost of Tsushima: Bow - where to find one? - Character development and equipment - Ghost of Tsushima Guide, Walkthrough

During this quest, Jin will eventually reach a location where a long bow lies on an altar. You can't take the bow straight away -you need to defeat a mini-boss called Tengu Demon. Only after winning the battle will the long bow be permanently added to the inventory.

The long bow inflicts heavy damage and the arrows fired are able to penetrate the armor. Disadvantages of this weapon include a long time of preparing for each subsequent shot and the need to shoot from a standing position.

Heavy and explosive arrows

Heavy arrows are available from the beginning - Ghost of Tsushima: Bow - where to find one? - Character development and equipment - Ghost of Tsushima Guide, Walkthrough

Heavy arrows are available from the beginning. Their most important advantage is that they can break through some types of armor and enemy helmets. Attacking unarmored opponents may result in the enemy being thrown backwards.

Explosive arrows are also available from the beginning. They are perfect for attacking groups of opponents. Upon hitting the target, a large explosion occurs - enemies immediately receive damage and are set on fire.

How to find arrows?

There are two main ways of renewing the supply of arrows - Ghost of Tsushima: Bow - where to find one? - Character development and equipment - Ghost of Tsushima Guide, Walkthrough

There are two main ways of renewing the supply of arrows. The first is to look for ammunition in the world. You can find arrows, e.g. on racks or at the bodies of defeated enemies.

The second method involves buying arrows from a trapper - Ghost of Tsushima: Bow - where to find one? - Character development and equipment - Ghost of Tsushima Guide, Walkthrough

The second method involves buying arrows from a trapper. We do not recommend this option, as all arrows except the normal ones are rather expensive. Crafting materials are better spent on upgrades, such as permanent improvements to equipment.

How to upgrade bows?

To upgrade bows, visit a Bowyer - Ghost of Tsushima: Bow - where to find one? - Character development and equipment - Ghost of Tsushima Guide, Walkthrough

To upgrade bows, visit a Bowyer. Each such operation requires sacrificing a certain number of crafting materials (in the example in the picture, supplies and bamboo).

We advise you to regularly upgrade the variation of the bow which you use more often. Upgrades can m.in. increase damage, allow faster firing of bow shots, or extend the range of the weapon.

Jin can only carry a limited number of arrows - Ghost of Tsushima: Bow - where to find one? - Character development and equipment - Ghost of Tsushima Guide, Walkthrough

Jin can only carry a limited number of arrows. Fortunately, you can increase your hero's inventory by visiting a trapper. In exchange for Predator Hides, you can buy upgrades that allow you to have more arrows on the ready. Upgrades are unfortunately bought separately for each type of arrow, so choose the most useful upgrades first.
