On this page of our guide to Animal Crossing New Horizons we have described Pascal, the otter that appeared in the game along with the summer update.
Pascal is an otter - no wonder you can only see him in the water. This red buddy appeared in the game with the summer update on July 2, 2020.
Where to find?
You can encounter Pascal only while swimming - after you fish out the clam he will come up to you in order to trade (this is not always the case for the first find of the day).
How do I talk to him?
You can't talk to Pascal. It's Pascal who will want to speak with you. First you must fish the scallop. Then there's a chance that the red otter will show up and offer a trade.
In exchange for the scallop (yes, it's a clam), you will get one of three things from Pascal:
- A Pearl (used for the recipes described below)
- The DIY Mermaid recipe
- Mermaid
Note - Pascal will only want to trade once a day and this always applies to the first scallop you have found on the very same day. If you have collected more of them the day before, then they won't interest Pascal.
