General information

You can unlock cooking by downloading the Be a Chef app! DIY Recipes+ from the Nook Stop at Tom Nook. It costs 2,000 Nook Miles. After downloading it on your phone, you can pretty much start cooking right away; you will also get some basic recipes for meals and for building a kitchen.

Meals work like fruit and mushrooms, but multiplied - by eating them, you gain a lot of stamina at once.

Where to get the kitchen and how to cook?

The kitchen is simply a gas or electric stove, or other equipment on which you can cook food. Here's how to get a kitchen:

1. You'll buy it at Nook Cranny if it's available - you may already own it.

1. Along with the Be a Chef! app you'll get the recipe for Stonework Kitchen. Its cost is 30 stones, 15 clay and 10 iron nuggets. Don't confuse it with brick oven - this oven is only decorative and you won't cook anything on it.

How to cook?

Just go to the kitchen and press A - select Let's cook!, and the cooking menu will appear on the screen along with all unlocked recipes. Cooking works the same way as crafting.

Where do I get the recipes?

You'll get the meal recipes when you unlock the app called Be a Chef! DIY Recipes+, but there aren't that may of them. Here are other ways to unlock more recipes:

1. you can buy a pack of Basic Cooking Recipes in Nook Cranny for 4980 Bells;
2. after catching some types of fish you will be informed about unlocking a new recipe;
3. they can be found in a bottle washed ashore;
4. you can also get them after shooting down a balloon;
5. if you're visiting your neighbor and they are cooking, talk to them and they'll share the recipe with you.
