Destroying the ammo depot | Mission 8 - Ratte Factory Sniper Elite III Guide

The game does not allow you, anymore, to walk around the enemies so, sooner or later, you will have to start eliminating them. Rely on the option to drown out the gunfire, use the suppressed weapon or take them down in melee. While securing this area, there will exit another group of enemies, from the depot on the upper level. It is best to throw them a grenade, as quickly as possible, although you can wait for them to disperse and take them down, one by one.
Secure the entire area around the ammo depot (point 10 on the map). At the same time, locate the new War Diary - Vahlen's Journal: War Machine; (green point 6 on the map) and take it.
After you have secured the area, reach the room on the upper floor, in the South-Western corner of this location. You can collect here, the third schematic for the advanced weapon (point 9 on the map). Note - before you take to the next main objective, make sure that you have three schematics on you, of the four available (points 5, 8 and 9), because you will be unable to backtrack later on (the same goes for the regular collectibles).
After you have sufficiently explored the area of the ammo depot, approach it (point 10 on the map) and press the appropriate key/button to plant the explosive (you do not need to escape from here, because the charge does not explode immediately).
