Farming Simulator 22: Contracts and orders FS 22 guide, tips

On this page of the Farming Simulator 22 tutorial you will read about the mechanics of missions, orders, contracts.

Last update: 19 November 2021

On this page of the guide you'll learn about the contracts / orders / missions in Farming Simulator 22: whether taking contracts is worth it, can you complete them with your own machines, can the mission-provided equipment be used on your own fields and can you "rob" your customer during the harvest.

If you have some free time or are short on money you can accept contracts from other land owners. The tasks can be fulfilled with your own machines or rented machines: if you rent them, you'll take a slight pay cut to cover the costs. You can't rent only selected machines: you get an entire set immediately, with every vehicle needed to complete the order. You can still use your own equipment though if, for example, your tractor is stronger or your trailer is larger. Missions appear from time to time, depending on the month - you shouldn't count on receiving many contracts during winter.

To complete a task you must finish all the specified work - only then will you get paid - Farming Simulator 22: Contracts and orders - Basics - Farming Simulator 22 Guide

To complete a task you must finish all the specified work - only then will you get paid. Interestingly, you can hire employees for some tasks (they can be successfully hired to transport machines / goods). Accepting a contract doesn't prevent you from switching between vehicles and doing your own work in the meantime. However, if you don't complete certain tasks within a month, the game will consider them failed.

Rented equipment can't be used in other contracts or on your own fields - if you try, you'll be notified that you've left the contract area and the device won't work.

Some missions are very easy and profitable, such as spraying or mowing grass. Usually the biggest problem is transporting the machines (which appear in the store if they're rented). Accepting tasks is also a great learning opportunity to try out many new rented machines.

If you change your mind about a task, you can abandon it - Farming Simulator 22: Contracts and orders - Basics - Farming Simulator 22 Guide

If you change your mind about a task, you can abandon it. If you do so, however, you could be forced to pay up. Before you mention it: if you try to steal the crops, you'll have to pay for not delivering them to the quest giver at the current market price. However: as long as you don't "collect the reward" for the contract, the money won't be taken from your account - this means you can consider this a loan of sorts, in form of crops. Despite all, it is possible to earn money by doing this if you wait for the crops' selling price to rise or use the production chains in your factories.
