This section contains a walkthrough for Recovering the Past, one of the Heleus assignments found in Mass Effect: Andromeda. To unlock the quest, land on Aya during A Trail of Hope. The assignment involves investigating an antique shuttle found on Havarl in search of artifacts for Aveli Kjar, a custodian from Aya.
Unlocking the task
Once you've managed to talk with Evfra and find your way to the Docking Area, find Avela Kjar to learn of a derelict shuttle crashed on Havarl. The custodian will ask you to travel to Havarl and investigate the shuttle in search of valuable artifacts. You can use the conversation as an opportunity to flirt with your interlocutor.
Travel to Havarl and find the crash area
Travel to Havarl and proceed to the central area of the planet. The shuttle is in a dried-out riverbed whose location is marked on your map. Stay on your toes, as there are numerous dangers in the vicinity: Roekaar, Remnant, as well as aggressive fauna. Scan the wreck and investigate it personally to find an Ancient Angaran Pilot's Helmet.
Deliver the artifact
You can now return to Aya to deliver the helmet to Avela. A good opportunity to continue flirting.
