God of War: The Stranger (Prologue) - boss, how to beat? God of War Guide and Walkthrough

On this page of the God of War game guide you will find the walkthrough for the first duel with the Stranger who visits the hut of Kratos and Atreus in the campaign's prologue. We explain how the confrontation with the Stranger looks like and how to diminish his health bar in order to defeat him.

In the initial phase of the duel, the Stranger will provoke Kratos to fight and will be quite sluggish. This is a good opportunity to learn his punches. Dodge his strikes, avoid his charges and counter at the right moment.

Once the opponent has lost most of his health points, several cut-scenes will occur. Then, you will have to complete quick time events.

When you return to the duel, the enemy will fully regenerate health and Kratos will enter the state of fury. Attack your enemy with new and powerful blows, and when the rage is over, fight with your previous strategy.

Kratos will eventually return to the hut. But the Stranger has not surrendered yet. He will relaunch his attack with redoubled strength. When you are thrown into an abyss, climb back up and continue your fight with the enemy.

It's time for the third round of the fight against the Stranger and in this new phase of the duel, the opponent will be faster and more agile in the fight.

Jump away, watch out for aerial attacks and dodge enemy charges. Remember to parry incoming blows and calmly strike your enemy.

The duel with the Stranger ends by pressing L3+R3 (left and right analog knob). Kratos will snap his opponent's neck and the fight will end.
