God of War: Where to get better equipment? God of War Guide and Walkthrough

In this chapter you can learn how to get the best equipment in God of War. Having better equipment will make it easier to take out the main bosses and other strong enemies later in the campaign, including dragons and valkyries.

1. The best gear can be found in two additional realms. These are Muspelheim and Niflheim, which are described in detail on separate pages of this guide.
2. Muspelheim can be reached rather fast. There, you can create powerful pieces of armor that will help you throughout the majority of the game. However, you need to complete, so called, Trials - difficult fights during which you have to defeat groups of enemies in a certain way.
3. Completing favours for Sindri and Brok are also a good way of getting powerful equipment. The dwarves can send you to new locations where you have to find a very valuable loot or runes. Because of that you should try to complete them as you progress through the story instead of postponing them for later.
4. The best gear in the game can be found in Niflheim. However, you can get there at the end of the game. Treat that place as an "armory" that will strengthen you for fights with Valkyries.
5. In Niflheim you can craft, e.g. an armor that regenerates your health or powerful talismans that can make Kratos more powerful. I recommend getting the armor that increases Kratos' defence and vitality - thanks to that gear you will become more resistant to enemy attacks.
6. Remember that equipment can be upgraded - this should always be your priority.
