Helpful tips LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Guide

  • Just like in other LEGO games, don't try to collect all of the secrets during your first visit in a particular location. In most cases you won't be able to do that, because you won't have access to all of the required characters and their abilities that are crucial in getting to various secret locations. You should explore only after you've unlocked all of the main characters and do so during the free roam mode.
  • The course of various chapters is in most cases linear, although the game allows you to build multiple constructions with the help of interactive blocks you stumble upon during your journey (multibuild). In most cases those places are connected with the main storyline, but there are also ones that are optional. Those can be used to reach a new treasure, watch a funny cut-scene, or unlock an additional, optional character. You should experiment and refrain from rushing when visiting a new location.
  • During most of the missions there's at least one blaster battle in which the characters you are controlling must hide behind covers. Remember that those covers cannot be destroyed by enemies, however you may be bombarded by special enemies while hiding behind them. Remember about such threats and move the controlled characters to the sides (or switch to different character) when you notice one of the red warning signs about incoming attack. You should also know that aside from standard attacks from behind a cover you sometimes have to approach a place from where you can discover weak points of the enemy vehicle or aim at the destructible objects from the environment.
  • An important aspect of the game is collecting studs. Note that you can increase the multiplier quickly by eliminating enemies. After you've eliminated a group of enemies, you can quickly destroy objects in the area and collect the studs that appeared there. Additionally, you can try to reach more valuable studs before the multiplier gets back to 1x.
  • Characters can travel between locations in between different missions. Those locations are, above all else, surfaces of various planets, resistance hideouts, or the interior of the Millennium Falcon. Each one of those locations are HUBs - aside from reaching the starting locations of the main missions you can also look for additional activities, such as side assignments, or rooms where trophies are stored. Just as with the case of missions, during the exploration of hubs you won't be able to unlock all of the secrets from the beginning. You can either try to collect those secrets that are located in generally-available places, or wait until you unlock more characters and unique abilities.
