This page contains a walkthrough of the A Piece of the Past side quest, in which you will meet Catori, the museum curator. The woman will tell you about relics and teach you how to use the Relic Restoration Machine.

Quest start
The quest will start once a part of the Fish Fossil lands in your inventory. You'll find it while digging in Eufaula Salvage Abandoned Ruins during other quests, so you can't miss it.
Talk to Catori (1)
You need to bring the Fish Fossil part you found to Catori, who is in the Museum in the northern part of the town. If you can't find her in the building, you are sure to catch the girl walking by the facility.
Catori will tell you about the relics, hand you the second part of the Fish Fossil, and tell you how to restore it to its former glory.
Reconstruct the Relic
In the middle of the Museum, by the right wall, you will find the Relic Restoration Machine. The device is used to repair relics, so you should use it as soon as possible.
To restore the Fish Fossil, you will need 5 Data Discs. You should have several in your backpack at this stage of the game. If not, you can get them at the Eufaula Salvage Abandoned Ruins or by the methods described on the Research and Data Discs page.
Once you have all the required materials, use the Relic Restoration Machine to complete the Fish Fossil Relic.
Talk to Catori (2)
The final step is to talk to Catori again. Bring the complete relic to the woman and it will be displayed at the Museum from this point forward. This is the end of the quest.
