This page contains a walkthrough of the On the Shoulders of Buried Giants main quest, in which you will visit Professor Qi in his research center. You will learn what Data Discs are used for and how to research blueprints required to unlock new machines.

Quest start
The quest will automatically start when you find your first Data Disc during the Picking Up the Slack main quest. You will acquire the data disk when digging through Mixed Junk Piles or Mechanical Scraps in the Eufaula Salvage Yard.
Talk to the Researcher
Once you have the Data Disc in your backpack, head to the Research Center. The building is located right next to Mi-an's Home, just north of Commerce Guild.
Inside, Qi the researcher is waiting to tell you about Data Discs and how to use them. From now on, whenever you interact with Qi, you will be able to research new machine blueprints. After a short conversation, the quest will end.
