Conscience for the Dead is a side quest in Vanaheim available in God of War Ragnarok. You will learn where the phantom Gunhild is, how to reach southern Vanaheim (The Veiled Passage) and how to deal with Seidr fanatics.

Unlocking the quest
Reach the Cliffside Ruins region in Vanaheim by boat - this is the southwestern part of the main area of this realm.
After mooring your boat in the dock, defeat the monsters. After that, a ghost of Gunhild will appear - talk to her.
Slay the Seidr fanatics
To continue this quest, you must gain access to the southern part of Vanaheim, specifically Goddess Falls and the Veiled Passage regions.
Stay in the Ruins among the cliffs and find a place to climb. Once you are at the top, jump to the next platforms shown in the picture.
Position yourself where you can see the chain covered by red vines. Your task is to remove the vines.
You need to set the vines on fire, but they are out of reach of your Blades. Ask your companion to create 3 seals next to each other - they must interlock and reach the vines. In addition, the seal closest to you has to be in range of Blades of Chaos. Equip Blades and hit the first seal. The strike should carry over the seals and finally set the vines on fire.
If there is no chain reaction, it is likely that the seals are too far apart. Delete them (press X while aiming) and create new ones.
Once the obstacle is gotten rid of, go down, reach the chain and climb up. In the new area you'll find a rune creation spot - it is shown in the screenshot.
Wait for the icon to appear - press Square - and a rune will be uttered and a pathway will be unlocked. Return to the boat and sail south.
Look for opportunities to head left (east) to reach the Veiled Passage region. Head north until you reach the place where you need to reach the land.
Follow the caves to the north. Along the way, destroy aggressive plants attached to the wall - throw weapons at them. This way you will be able to climb.
Kratos will ultimately reach the camp of Seidr fanatics - you must defeat them all. They are treated as regular opponents. Stay away from spitting plants and remember to pres 2x L1 to break through the defenses of enemies with shields. Fight until the mission objective is updated (some fanatics may be some distance from the main camp).
After winning the battle, return to the phantom in the Cliffside Ruins to finish the favor.
