Casualties of War is a group of favors from the Vanaheim Crater in the God of War Ragnarok. From our walkthrough you will learn where to pass quests from the search for artifact fragments Brooch, Hourglass, Scroll, Mug and Toy commissioned by phantoms from the Plains, Hollows and Jungle regions.

Casualties of War is a set of favors in God of War Ragnarok that you can complete in the Crater region in Vanaheim. The walkthrough tells you how to complete 5 different artefacts in side quests - The Brooch, The Hourglass, The Scroll, The Stein and The Toy. This will bring you closer to completing the Sinkholes, Plains and Jungle regions in 100%.

Favors from the Casualties of War group - overview
All side quests of the Casualties of War involve finding 2 fragments of the same artefact. When you reach the first fragment, you will always listen to the conversation with a spirit and the favor will appear in the journal. When you reach the second fragment, the quest will end.
You can find the fragments in any order. Full freedom also applies to starting tasks - it does not have to be identical to the one in our walkthrough.
Casualties of War: The Brooch
You get the quest from phantom Holger.
The first artefact fragment is located in the Plains region, northwest of the first Mystic Gateway, where you began your exploration of the Crater.
The second artefact fragment is in the southeastern part of the Plains, next to the chasm. This area is guarded by one of the Oath Guards, i.e. Travellers (mini-bosses).
Casualties of War: The Hourglass
You get the quest from phantom Skarde.
The first artefact fragment is in the ruins in the southern part of the Sinkholes region. You can explore this area, e.g. when doing the Quaking Hollow favor.
The second artefact fragment is located in the northern part of the Sinkholes, which can only be reached by boat (requires finishing the Return of the River favor). You should pass the cave with the artefact on your way to the drake's lair from The Burning Skies favor.
Casualties of War: The Scroll
You get the quest from phantom Runa.
You will find the first artefact fragment in a cave in the northwestern part of the Plains region.
The second artefact fragment is in a seemingly inaccessible area in the northwestern Plains, near the shop and the Mystic Gateway.
To reach the other half, you must destroy the barricade made of rocks using the Draupnir Spear.
You have to hit 3 weak points with spears - two of them are in front (image 1), and the third (image 2) is on the side of the barricade. Then detonate all three spears.
Casualties of War: The Stein
You get the quest from phantom Magnus.
The first artefact fragment is on the other side of the dam in the Jungle region. You can easily find it, for example, during the Return of the River side mission.
The second artefact fragment lies on the ground in the western part of the Plains region. You can get there only after opening the dam, because you have to swim to the nearby dock.
Casualties of War: The Toy
You get the quest from phantom Andor.
The first artefact fragment is located in the southern part of the Jungle region, next to the Nornir Chest. You can get there only after opening the dam - take a boat to the southern dock.
The second artefact fragment is in the northeastern part of the Jungle region.
Getting to the other half isn't obvious - you'll have to take a boat to the Jungle dock hidden on the side (image 1), squeeze between the rocks (image 2) and deal with a pair of ogres.
