Gold is one of the resources available in Deep Rock Galactic. It has a bright yellow color and its deposit can take on a variety of shapes. The primary reason for mining Gold is to increase the number of experience points received after completing the mission - the size of the bonus depends on the amount of the extracted resource.
Gold is a very common mineral, so it can be found throughout the planetary system and in all types of missions. However, its compressed version is much rarer to find and the chance of it appearing on the map is about 30%. Gold is a durable mineral, so you have to hit it twice to rip off a piece of the deposit.
Compressed Gold
Compressed Gold occurs in the form of one large gold chunk. Due to its very large size, it has to be carried to a deposit. While carrying such a large lump of gold, the character cannot perform any other actions. If necessary, the lump can be dropped or handed over to someone else.
Each lump of Compressed Gold is worth between 150 and even 250 regular pieces of gold, resulting in a large amount of extra credits and experience points.
How to find Compressed Gold?
Compressed Gold deposits are recognized by the small shiny gold flakes on the surface of the cave walls. By digging in such places as the one in the image below, the player can be sure to get one Compressed Gold.
Small gold flakes can be very easily overlooked, especially if they have been obscured by worthless crystals or some other ore. When exploring caves, you have to be very careful not to overlook such precious resource.
