On this page of the Resident Evil 4 Remake game guide, you will find information on how to craft new items and ammunition. This option will become very useful especially in later chapters and when you decide to play on the hardest difficulty level.
Where is the crafting menu?
Open the inventory or the map. There you will find a crafting tab. You will see all the current recipes for creating both consumable items, such as all kinds of grenades, and ammunition for a particular weapon, as well as healing herbs that can be combined for a better healing effect or increasing its maximum value.
How to craft new items?
You can create items in two ways.
- The first is universal and applies to every possible option. In the Crafting tab, all you have to do is have the required ingredients to produce what you want. Then you must hold down the button responsible for crafting.
- The second way requires opening only the inventory. There you must find items such as Gunpowder or Herbs, and then choose the craft option.
A requirement (for items and ammunition) is to have a certain amount of, e.g. Gunpowder and Resources (S) or (L). When it comes to "medicine", you must have at least 2x Herbs (they can be of the same color).
How to get crafting materials?
Gunpowder and Resources are key materials in crafting. They can be obtained in many ways. The first of them is killing opponents. There is a chance that you will be able to pick up these items after their death. The same applies to exploration and destroying wooden barrels, vases, etc.
In later chapters, you will be able to purchase crafting materials from the Merchant. Gunpowder can be exchanged for Spinels. If you have completed an additional task - Requests - you will receive a certain amount of these stones from him. In the Trade tab, you can purchase Gunpowder with this special currency.
After that, from time to time, the Merchant will replenish his assortment in the Buy tab with more Resources. These can be purchased with money - Pesetas.
What's more, in later chapters, the Trade tab will have a metallic black attaché case, which, when equipped, increases the chance of obtaining Resources (L) from defeated enemies. It costs 8 Spinels.
