On this page of the Resident Evil 4 Remake game guide, you will find information about the request called A Savage Mutt. It involves killing a strong variety of mutant dog in Chapter 5. This is the last order you can do in the Village.

Challenges of this type allow you to earn special currency (spinels), with which you will be able to buy rare items - such as a treasure map, artifacts or special weapon upgrades. The eighth Request named A Savage Mutt is located in a similar place as order #3: Viper Hunt. In Chapter 5 you again traverse the locations you visited earlier, but this time in the company of Ashley. You will find the request card next to the merchant's stand, near the entrance to the Town Hall.

Once the assignment begins, Savage Mutt will be marked on the map near Village Chief Manor, south of Village Square.

In order for the opponent to appear, you need to visit the attic, which you can access from a room on the second floor (there was an important key here in chapter two). Behind one of the paintings on the wall, there is a lever that will unlock access to the ladder. Then it remains to boost Ashley and climb up.

When you go back outside after searching the attic, Savage Mutt will appear behind the gate and then run away. You must now follow it to the Village Square. It is a good idea to arm yourself decently before the clash, because it is quite demanding.

How to fight the Savage Mutt?

The fight against the Savage Mutt is similar to the usual variety of mutant dogs with tentacles, but much more difficult. You have to use a lot more ammunition on him, and flashbang grenades are not very impressive to it. Still, they are worth using because they make him vulnerable for a while.

After being exposed to a flash grenade, the dog will be writhing on the ground - this is the moment to quickly run up to it and attack it with a knife. Also remember that you can parry with a knife, especially when the mutant animal is straining to attack - keep your guard up at such a moment. Also, shoot at his tentacle a lot, but keep in mind that he can quickly jump from side to side, thus becoming a more difficult target.

After killing the dog, you will receive valuable alexandrite.
