On this RE4 Remake guide page, you will learn how to solve the puzzle with obtaining the Salazar Family Insignia while playing as Ashley in chapter 9. We explain how to properly set up 3 lamps to open the crypt with the insignia.
Location of the puzzle
In the final part of chapter 9, you will play as Ashley, and after going through the mausoleum, you will reach the Salazar Family Insignia location - this is the tomb of the Salazar family, where you have to obtain a quest item.
Puzzle solution - 3 lamps
There are 3 spots around the central crypt where you can place lamps. To solve this puzzle, you have to place the correct lamp on each spot. You can move lamps between stands - Ashley will automatically swap them.
You start with the lamp with a circle symbol (you can see it on the wall of the lamp). Put it on the platform at the back of the crypt to take the lamp with the crescent moon.
With the crescent moon lamp, run to the right and swap with the left platform (looking from the starting point). Take the lamp with a cross.
Go to the right platform (looking from the starting point). Place the lamp on it.
The crypt should open assuming you have placed the lamps correctly:
- Left of the entrance to the crypt - the lamp with a crescent moon;
- Behind the crypt - the lamp with a circle;
- Right of the entrance to the crypt - the lamp with a cross.
You can now enter the crypt and take Salazar Family Insignia.
