This page of our guide to Resident Evil 4 Remake contains the solution to the puzzle involving two Grandfather Clocks. You'll find them in Chapter 9, in the castle, while playing as Ashley. First Grandfather Clock

You'll encounter the Grandfather Clocks puzzle in Chapter 9 while playing as Ashley, after the main duo separates due to the events in the Grand Hall.

Ashley should come across the first clock on her way onward (pictured above), but she can't do anything with it just yet - you don't know the correct time. You must keep moving.

Second Clock and the hint note

After exploring the library and riding an elevator, you'll reach a room where Ashley will see Leon.

Explore the western part of the room to find the Hastily Written Note.

The note contains a tip regarding the correct hour:

1. If you are playing on Assisted or Standard difficulty level, you need to set the clock at 11:04;
2. if you are playing on Hardcore or Professional difficulty level, you need to set the clock at 7:00.

In the eastern part of the same room you'll find the second Grandfather Clock. Approach it.

Set the time on the clock based on what you've learned from the note (11:04 or 7:00 - depending on your current difficulty level). This will unlock a new pathway.

Returning to the first Clock

You must now return to the first Grandfather Clock. Go downstairs and stop the Armadura animated armor with a lamp. You can now use the mechanism (hold down the Interact button) without getting hurt.

We've pictured the location of the first Clock above - you must run through the Library (use lamps to stun the encountered armors) and leave through the western entrance.

Set the time from the note again (11:04 or 7:00) the Grandfather Clock will move and reveal a new pathway.

You must now reach the elevator button. After pressing it, turn around and stun the armors. When the elevator arrives, get inside and use it to reach the Mausoleum.
