How to get a girlfriend?
To date you must raise your Intimacy Level through various interactions. Each girl has three intimacy levels. To reach the next level you must fill up the intimacy bar and complete a side case related to the girl in question. After filling up the bar when at Intimacy Level 3, the girl will offer a relationship.
We've listed the available interactions below:
- Wanna hang out? - This option lets Yagami ask a girl out to play darts or to the Batting Center. You'll get more intimacy points if you manage to win the game.
Emily is very good at playing darts. The Miracle Darts, an item obtainable during the Big Squirrels Don't Cry side case should help you beat her. You'll find the exact location of this item on a separate page of the guide: Squirrel Search Bar District.
- Let's chat for a bit - this option allows you to talk with the girl. You gain access to conversation topics by listening to people talk on the streets. Each conversation topic can only be used once.
- I've got something for you - by selecting this option you can give the girl a gift. Gifts, such as jewelry and accessories, can be bought at La chatte Blanche in Ijincho and at Marche in Kamurocho.
Yagami can still talk to a girl, give her gifts and go out on dates after entering a relationship with her. Yagami gets healed by talking to his girlfriend. If Yagami gets into a fight during a date, his girlfriend will cheer for him.
In the base game Yagami can only date one girl - Emily, who works at Girl's Bite.
The remaining three girls and additional dating side cases involving them are included in the Detective Essentials DLC.

You can start dating Emily after completing the Girl's Bar School Stories.
Once you've fully completed the Girl's Bar storyline return to the bar and talk to Emily, who sits at one of the tables. Interact with her enough to fill her intimacy meter, then select the I'd love to know whenever you're in dialogue option during your next conversation. Take a taxi or head to your office and rest on the couch. You should get a text from Emily after waking up. Choose the Use food as an excuse to invite her out option. This unlocks a side case - Step by Step.
After the case return to the bar and raise Emily's Intimacy further. Wait for Emily to text you again to unlock a new side case - Broken Barriers.
After the case return to the bar once again and max out Emily's Intimacy level even further. Go to your office and rest on the couch until the night comes. Emily will call you after you wake up - head to Jinnai Station and complete the final side case related to her - We Mend, We Grow.
