Unlocking the quest
This mission should appear on your world map after capturing the Kappagaike Torii Gate during Chapter 4 of the campaign. It serves as a continuation of the Bloodthirsty Blossoms quest unlockable earlier in the game. To reach the marker you may be forced to capture more shrines and get rid of the fog.
The journal claims the quest giver is the Gardener, but to start the mission you must interact with the new corrupt tree indicated on the map.
Defeat all enemies
Reach the big red tree. Examining it will summon a group of Visitors you must fight. You'll be attacked by several enemies at ones, therefore AoE attacks will come in handy here, letting you weaken and rip out cores from more than one Visitor at once.
Cleanse the cherry blossom tree
After the battle interact with the tree again and remove the hand seal. This will cause white trees to appear nearby.
