Unlocking the quest
The earliest you can start this mission is after taking over the Matsumi Shrine, which you visit in chapter 3. A quest marker should automatically appear on the map.
The quest giver is the Gardener.
Examine the red cherry blossom tree
Head towards the red tree in the park. You will fight a large battle against several different types of Visitors. It is safest to keep your enemies at bay, especially since you have a lot of room.
Watch out for projectiles and use your strong attacks when several enemies stand close to each other. You can find ether and levitating medicines in case you need to replenish your supplies.
Cleanse the cherry blossom tree
After winning the battle, approach the corrupted tree and examine it. You should find a hand seal on it - finish the mini-game of repeating hand movements.
The color of the surrounding trees will change to white. You can now talk to the quest giver to end the mission.
