An example collectible (War Diary)

In the game Sniper Elite III: Afrika there are two main categories of collectibles. These are:

• War Diaries - after you collect a diary, you can read it. Throughout the main campaign, there are a total of 60 diaries.
• Collectible/Playing Cards - after you have collected a card, it is included into your collection. Throughout the main campaign, there are a total of 20 cards.

Apart from that, among collectibles, also can be counted:

• Long Shots - these are challenges, of a kind that consist in taking shots, from specific sniper nests. each Long Shot has one specific target, which is usually at a distance of several hundreds of meters away from your character. Throughout the main campaign, there are a total of 8 shots to take (one per mission).
• Weapon Parts - you find the parts at the corpses of specific enemies that you defeat. Throughout the main campaign, there are a total of 15 parts to obtain.

All of the collectibles in the game are subject to the same rules. At the moment, at which you obtain a collectible, it is automatically added to your inventory and it is independent of your current progress. Therefore, you do not need to save the game manually, each time after you obtain a collectible. You can also return to the previous saves to include into your possessions, a collectible that you missed at the beginning of a given mission.

At the same time, it is worth adding that you receive experience points for each collectible that you obtain and this should, additionally, motivate you to search for them. The exact whereabouts of the collectibles have been provided on the successive pages of this chapter.
