Obtain the artifact | Chapter 6: A Man Apart Thief Guide

You receive new objective, after Garrett approaches the reactor with the artifact inside. I recommend that you start with exploring the area. Climb down the stairs on the left and collect the note (Laboratory Repair Report) from the chair. Now, climb up the stairs and reach the top balcony. Examine the diary (Baron Northcrest - Progress) and use the rope arrow on the catch shown in the above screenshot. Gain speed and leap to grab the rope. Then, climb down and jump towards the North-Western ledge. Here, you can find a Telescope - 45G and a ring (Memories of the Dead - Braggart's Memory).

The lever

Again, leap towards the rope, climb up and jump towards the upper balcony. Once again, take the stairs around the central reactor and climb down. Search the interactive lever hare and give it a pull.

Go now to the central balcony, i.e. the one with the two turning wheels, shown in the above screenshot. Give a turn to the wheel on the left, thanks to which you will be manipulating the metal elements surrounding the reactor. The plan assumes that you arrange the elements in the positions in which they resonate.

Using the wheel on the right increases pressure

Now use the wheel on the right and turn it to the right, as much as possible, which will increase the pressure. You should notice that the crack in the reactor's shaft got bigger. Decrease the pressure and repeat the above actions twice. You need, each time, to use the left wheel to find the position in which the elements vibrate, after which you turn the right wheel to increase the pressure and enlarge the crack.

You can now collect the artifact

A small explosion, which occurs as a result, will enable you to access the reactor. Walk over the narrow plank, jump towards the reactor and pick up the artifact (Primal Stone). For doing that, you will be rewarded with a Focus Point, which you should spend on an upgrade. During the attempt to climb to the ledge above, Garret will, unfortunately, be surprised by the General (Thief-Taker General), whom you have already met in the previous chapters.
