The Fire Staff in New World allows you to inflict high AoE damage spread over time. This page of the guide describes all active and passive abilities of the Fire Staff, and explains how to increase its damage by developing the right attribute.

Developing the Intelligence attribute increases the Fire Staff's efficiency.

Fire Mage - active skills

Pillar Of Fire - the spell deals 134% weapon damage.

  1. First Strike - Pillar of Fire deals 40% more damage to enemies with full health.
  2. Arsonist's Advantage - you gain 10% of the maximum mana level for each enemy hit by the Pillar of Fire.

Meteor Shower - bombard the target with meteors, dealing 34% of weapon damage on the first hit, and then 20% of weapon damage per second to the targets in the attack area.

  1. Immolation - first meteor shower hit provides 1% of the max. mana level for each hit target.
  2. Fiery Determination - by casting Meteor Shower, you gain Grit.
  3. Judgment Of Helios - after the first hit, all other hits deal 25% of weapon damage.

Fireball - shoot a fireball that deals 140% of weapon damage upon hit and leaves behind a 3m-radius burning area that lasts for 6 seconds. The burning field deals 10% of weapon damage per second.

  1. Scorched Earth - the burning area left by the fireball remains for 9 seconds,
  2. Catch - a direct Fireball hit grants 10% of the maximum mana level and reduces the Fire Staff's cooldown time by 7%.

Fire Mage - passive skills

Spell Focus - heavy attacks restore 5% of the max. mana level upon hit.

Fiery Restoration - heavy attacks reduce the Fire Staff's cooldown time by 10% upon hit.

Clear Mind - when you have more than 50% mana, you gain 10% Empower (it increases the dealt damage).

Singe - if you receive a critical hit with the Fire Staff, you will ignite and take 3% of weapon damage per second for 6 seconds.

Spellslinger - your skills have a 15% chance of dealing critical damage.

Clear Casting - if you have received any damage in the last 3 seconds, you will deal 10% more damage.

Prophet of A Fire God - increases critical damage by 20% when using the Fire Staff.

Flare - heavy attacks don't use mana.

Runes Of Helios - casting a fire spell automatically puts a 2-meter rune on the ground that increases spell damage by 30% when you're on it. The rune lasts for 7 seconds.

Pyromancer - active skills

Incineration - unleashes a fiery explosion which deals 130% of weapon damage and knocks all enemies 3 meters back. It sets the enemies on fire, dealing 3% of weapon damage per second for 6 seconds.

  1. Scorched - each Incinerate hit puts on an additional ignite effect.
  2. Cauterize Wounds - restores health to 20% of Incinerate damage.
  3. Flame Out - Incinerate strikes twice.

Flamethrower - a stream of fire from the Fire Staff deals 34% of weapon damage every second. Each hit sets the enemies on fire, dealing 3% of weapon damage per second for 6 seconds.

  1. Fire's Reach - increases the Flamethrower's range by 50%.
  2. Infernal Flames - increases the Flamethrower's primary damage by 25%.
  3. Pyro Dancer - the Flamethrower has no cooldown time.

Burn Out - charge at the enemies and deal them 129% weapon damage upon hit. When breaking through the enemy forces, you will put on the incendiary effect to them dealing 10% weapon damage every second for 8 seconds.

  1. All In - the Fire Staff's cooldown times are reduced by 5% for each enemy hit by Burn Out.
  2. Heat It Up - increases the Burn Out range by 50%.

Pyromancer - passive skills

Pyromania - when you have less than 50% health and use the Fire Staff, the damage increases by 20%.

Heat Up - blocking an melee attack restores 5% of your max. mana level.

Let It Burn - when incendiary effect deals damage, you gain 10% Fortify for 2 seconds (Fortify reduces the damage you receive).

Kindle - ignition takes 20% longer.

Watch It Burn - light attacks set enemies on fire, dealing them 3% weapon damage every second for 6 seconds.

Trial By Fire - when an enemy hits you, you will be surrounded by a field of fire that deals 5% weapon damage to all enemies within 4 meters. It activates when you're hit during combat and lasts for 10 seconds.

Combat Speed - you gain 10% Haste for 5 seconds after using a Fire Staff ability.

Reheat - if you don't use a Fire Staff ability for 6 seconds, your mana cooldown speed increases by 400%.
