Rewards for completing the quest

Return to the Map Chamber

Go to the Map Chamber to meet Professor Fig and the Guardians. After the cutscene, enter the Repository.

Stop the goblin Loyalists

Moving on, you'll trigger an enemy encounter. After the battle, wait for Professor Fig to move the drill, unlocking the way forward.

Reach the Repository before Ranrok

You'll soon be attacked by two trolls and several minor enemies. If you've learned the Unforgivable Spells, now's a good time to cast Imperio on one of the trolls to turn it against the other enemies.

After the battle approach the wall pictured above, the one glowing blue, and wait for Fig to open the way forward.

Movign on, you'll run into another group of Loyalists. Deal with them, locate another glowing wall and keep going.

Once again, you'll face even more enemies. If you know Imperio, cast it on a troll to gain an ally. Hogwarts teachers, such as Professor Black and Professor Weasley, will help you fight.

After another cutscene you'll finally reach the Repository. At this point, you must make a choice determining the ending of Hogwarts Legacy:

1. I intend to keep it contained here: this option brings you closer to the good ending, as you manage to resist the temptation of opening the Repository and gaining even more power.
2. I intend to open it: opening the Repository brings you closer to the evil ending, as you act in accordance to Isidora's wishes.

Your choice will also affect the next cutscene featuring Professor Fig and Ranrok.

Defeat Ranrok

At the start of the battle focus on avoiding Ranrok's attacks (he can shoot an energy beam from his maw and hurl energy orbs), as he's currently completely invulnerable. When a colored orb appears on the screen, cast a spell of the same color to break it.

This will make Ranrok vulnerable, letting you drain the first part of his health bar. We recommend saving your Ancient Magic for the later phases of the fight.

In the second phase you'll need to break two colored orbs to make Ranrok vulnerable.

His meteorites can be dodged or intercepted (R1, RB or X) and thrown back at him, which deals some additional damage.

When Ranrok covers himself with his wings, it means he's about to unleash a massive energy surge - step back to the edge of the arena. Deprive him of the second part of his health bar to advance to phase three.

The final phase of Hogwarts Legacy's final boss battle takes place in a much larger arena than the previous two. This time you must break three orbs to make Ranrok vulnerable. He won't make it easy for you, so try to keep your distance.

After dealing enough damage to him, Ranrok will land and become invulnerable again. This time he'll be much more aggressive, attacking constantly, making it harder for you to break the orbs.

He'll also make use of all his previous attacks much more often. He can also charge at you with nearly no telegraph, so you must be ready to dodge. If you get too close to Ranrok, he may go for a melee strike and hit you with his wing.

Once you fully drain his health bar, he'll change his form a bit. You must now hit three colored orbs in a row (purple, yellow and red) to finish the fight. Ranrok, of course, will not make this easy for you, so you must stay vigilant and keep evading.

Depending on the choice you've made while talking to Professor Fig, you'll watch a cutscene and complete the quest.
