Subnautica Below Zero: Vehicles - what's in the game? Subnautica Guide and Walkthrough

Last update: 27 March 2021

In Subnautica: Below Zero the player will be able to build vehicles that can be used to traverse the game world. Most of them cannot be built yet, but you can summon them using the console. The chapter below contains a description of all available vehicles.

Seamoth

This small submarine should be familiar to those who played the first installment. Seamoth is a small and fast vehicle that is perfect to explore small caves. After installing the best submerge module, it can descend to 900 meters. Currently, the vehicle can access any location in the world.

Seamoth has low durability, especially when facing Bonesharks which can be encountered in Thermal Spires - Subnautica Below Zero: Vehicles - whats in the game? - FAQ - Subnautica Game Guide

Seamoth has low durability, especially when facing Bonesharks which can be encountered in Thermal Spires. The vehicle can only take a few hits from them.

How to get a Seamoth?

You cannot build it in game - you need to use the cheat console. Input: item seamoth.

Prawn Suit

Another vehicle that appeared in the first installment. This heavy mech can traverse the seabed (provided it is without any ledges). Not recommended to longer trips as it is very slow.

The suit can descend to 900 meters. Following its limited ability to resurface, you need to avoid caves. The game does not contain any vehicle that can dock a Prawn suit and transport it.

Prawn Suit is very resistible to damage, while its exchangeable arms are great for combat.

How to get the Prawn Suit?

Similarly to Seamoth, Prawn Suit cannot be built. You can summon it using the console, by inputting the following command: item exosuit.

Hoverbike

This vehicle is a novelty, mainly because it is used to traverse the land areas. It is similar to a futuristic snowmobile. Has low speed and steering delay. Following the lack of land zones, its use is limited.

In opposition to other vehicles listed in this chapter, Hoverbike can be built - Subnautica Below Zero: Vehicles - whats in the game? - FAQ - Subnautica Game Guide

How to get the Hoverbike?

In opposition to other vehicles listed in this chapter, Hoverbike can be built. To do so, you need a special console, known as Hoverpad. Its blueprint can be unlocked using the console - input: unlock hoverpad. To build a Hoverbike, you need the following: Titanium x2, Lubricant and Battery.

Seatruck

Seatruck is a successor to Cyclops, a similar ship found in the base game. Seatruck is a submarine that allows you to install various modules - you can connect a few elements of various function, including the teleportation module. As a result, you have a lot of room to improvise.

The vehicle is not optimized yet, which may cause lagging when summoned

The vehicle is quite fast and easy to maneuver, but each installed module lowers its speed - Subnautica Below Zero: Vehicles - whats in the game? - FAQ - Subnautica Game Guide

The vehicle is quite fast and easy to maneuver, but each installed module lowers its speed. It can descend to the same depth as Seamoth.

How to get the Seatruck?

For now, you cannot build Seatruck. You can summon it using the console - input: item seatruck.
