Subnautica Below Zero: Base - how to build? Subnautica Guide and Walkthrough

In Subnautica: Below Zero, as in the vanilla version of the game, you can build your own underwater bases. The mechanics themselves are the same. This means that you can create structures freely for as long as you have enough resources, and the base has enough structural integrity. Differences between the two games start to appear when it comes to the means of acquiring the Habitat Builder - a tool that allows you to build a variety of structures. In the vanilla version of Subnautica, you were in possession of its blueprint, meaning that if you lost the tool, you could always build another copy to replace it. In the case of Below Zero, the tool in question is quite unique. You do not have a blueprint for it. The only copy will be dropped in a supply crate. This takes place after your visit to Sanctuary Zero.

Supply crates are highlighted with the icon indicated above.

This is the only moment when you can acquire this item without cheating. If you lose it, you will have two options left. The first is to conduct an ordinary search. The scope of such an action depends to a large extent on the zone in which you are located. The deeper it is, the less likely you are to find the lost object. This is due to the fact that items do not always fall to the bottom and can drift at any depth.

The second option is to simply cheat. The Habitat Builder can be spawned in by using appropriate cheat commands. Type one of these two commands into the console: item builder or item 509. You can learn how to unlock the console from the following chapter: How to activate cheats?
