Main menu of the game offers a variety of game modes.

The game offers various single players modes, as well as online skirmishes, with other players. As far as the single player modes goes, they are as follows:

  • Tutorial - teaching the basics of the game mechanics, such as camera control, building construction, resource collecting, or popularity customization. Additionally, you will learn how to issue commands to your units. If it's your first contact with this game, or if you aren't very familiar with strategy games, it's recommended to start with tutorial.
  • Learning Campaigns - they are divided into 5 parts, in which you will complete 15 missions. In contrast to skirmishes, each one of campaign missions assigns you a set of requirements, such as blocking you access to certain buildings and/or units. Additionally you will have to complete various tasks, such as collecting particular resources, defeating the enemy under a time limit, surviving waves of attacks and so on. It's a perfect way in order to get into the game, as it introduces various mechanics along the way.
  • Trails - they are basically skirmishes with pre-set rules. They are divided into 6 groups, with a total of 24 missions. In contrast to the learning campaigns, you don't have any additional requirements or tasks to do - all you have to do is to defeat your enemies. Some of the mission are extremely difficult, because they impose a serious handicap on the player, giving the enemy a huge advantage.
  • Skirmish - allows you to play a skirmish on one of several dozens of maps. You can select various options, like the amount of gold, resources and/or army you start with, the peace time, or the amount of enemies you want to face against.
  • Free building - you have access to several maps and you can play on them for as long as you want. You won't be attacked by the enemy and your biggest and only concern is to make a prosperous castle.
  • Player maps - this screen allows you to play on maps made by other players. You won't have access to any player map from the beginning - to play them, you need to download them first. Also, here you will find maps made by using the world editor.
