Mission 2 - The Growing Shadow | Achievements - Legacy of the Void SC II: Legacy of the Void Guide

Last update: 11 May 2016

The Growing Shadow. Requires you to complete the mission on any difficulty level.

Ready to Serve. Train a total of 20 zealots or stalkers. Another simple task. Improve your economy so that you will have a constant income of minerals and gas and regularly give order to train new units. Until the end of the mission you should gather even twice more units than you need for the achievement. Just remember that there is or condition in this task. Training 10 units of each type will not provide you with the achievement. Units found during the mission also do not count.

Resourceful. Gather all resource and gas packages that can be found on the map on normal difficulty level. Very easy achievement, you must simply explore the whole map thoroughly, including all side passages. The resources aren't hidden very well, so by exploring each path you will find them all.

We Move Unseen. You must destroy one hatchery or lair in six minutes since taking over the base on high difficulty level. The hardship of this task has two sources. First, you will not know with what forces you will reach the base. It is possible that you will lose some unit on your way. Second, some time will pass before you will be able to create additional troops. You can use reinforcements provided by the void pylon, but it might still prove to be not enough. So, in order to obtain this achievement you must watch out for your units during the first part of the mission and after taking over the base you must immediately build the pylon that will restore the power to its western part, produce few zealots, gather units from the void pylon and carefully attack the closest zerg base [3]. All that time you must produce new units in order to quickly replace the losses and enforce your attack. The time is of essence, but it is better to attack after five minutes with a large group of units than after three minutes with a small army that will be defeated.
