You start with a small base, but basically you can start producing units immediately. Near the [1] there is a place for another base which you should build later in the mission. Five celestial locks [1L-5L] are scattered through the map but three of them are close to your base. They should be your main target during the early phase of the mission.

The mission doesnt have any time limit, so start with calmly improving your base - Mission 9 - Temple of Unification - Campaign - Legacy of the Void - StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void - Game Guide and Walkthrough

The mission doesn't have any time limit, so start with calmly improving your base. You will need some melee fighting and ranged units. Enemy attacks will be rare and not strong, so you can resign from creating turrets and protect yourself only with units. Gather around 20 units of different type and go conquer the first celestial lock [1L][2L] or [3L]. It doesn't matter which one you pick as long as it is near the base. Once you reach it, you will discover it isn't well guarded. Stand next to the building after killing all enemies. A progress bar will appear. A moment later the building will belong to you. You will recognize it by the change of the color from red to green.

In difference to many previous missions, celestial locks can be reclaimed by the enemy. All he needs to do is stand next to them when there are no buildings or units that belong to you. Because of that, you must prepare defense. You can choose - placing pylons and few photon cannons there or only pylons in order to quickly teleport units. The first solution is better. Few well positioned turrets will be able to repel most of the attacks, and in case of trouble you can send reinforcements through the pylon. An optimal number of photon cannons are eight, four per road. Position them in such way that they will support each other. You should also build one or two shield batteries for them so that they will be able to withstand more in battle.

You can also create a rapid reaction unit just in case and position it between the claimed celestial locks (points [4] and [5] depending on which buildings you have taken over. From both these places you will have quick access to three buildings). Send such group, consisting of ten and more stalkers, to the attacked celestial locks in order to help the defenders. If you combine all three methods, the enemy shouldn't be able to reclaim the buildings.

In addition to single unit groups and fortifications, the enemy has two bases - protoss [2] and terran [3]. Both bases are definitely too strong for you to destroy them. There is no need to do it anyway, as the enemy attacks won't be too dangerous. You must only create proper defenses of the base and celestial locks. The latter will be the priority for the enemy and you should focus on it.

Improve the base and create second one [1] as well. Gather resources, upgrade your units and improve the size of your army. Claim the second celestial lock once you secure the first one. Its defense will be slightly stronger, similarly to the next ones, but you will destroy it with a large enough army. Don't leave the buildings unprotected, unless you want to lose them. Around the fifth minute you will receive information about the titanic warp prism which will patrol the northeastern part of the map (points [6][7][8]). Ignore it for now.

A mistake when attacking the defenses of the titanic war prism - too little units able to attack aerial targets - Mission 9 - Temple of Unification - Campaign - Legacy of the Void - StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void - Game Guide and Walkthrough

A mistake when attacking the defenses of the titanic war prism - too little units able to attack aerial targets.

Focus on building the army after taking over and securing three celestial locks. Gather more than 40 units of different type. You will mostly need shooting units that are able to attack aerial targets and you will need flying phoenixes. Go towards the point [6], wait for the titanic warp prism and attack it. Focus on the defenders of the ship, mostly very large void rays and scouts. Ignore the titanic warp prism for now, it won't hurt you. Destroy the defenses and focus on the main target. If it escapes, wait for it to return to point [6] and attack it again. Don't chase it, as it will stop above one of the platforms on the north part of the map and there it will have land backup. You will probably not have more infantry units than aerial ones, so the chase will have no sense at all anyway. Wait for the ship to return and get rid of it.

Take over the last celestial locks after destroying the titanic warp prism. The mission will end when you will take over the last of them. If during the battle you have lost one of the buildings, don't worry. This will matter only for the achievements you unlock. In theory you can lose and reclaim the celestial locks infinitely, or at least until the resources on the map depletes.
