Kelly Chambers - preliminary requirements and key aspects of this romance
- For obvious reasons, you can have an affair with Kelly Chambers only if she didn't die in the finale of Mass Effect 2.
- This is a homosexual relationship.
- The game does not allow you to start a romance with Kelly from a scratch, so the only solution is to continue the relationship started in the second part of the series (this cannot be changed or made up in any way).
How to establish and develop a romance
The first meeting with Kelly can occur as soon as you get to the Citadel after the end of the mission to Mars - we discussed it on the separate page of our walkthrough, that is, The Citadel: Kelly Chambers.
Namely, travel to refugee camp in the Docks Holding Area and find Kelly in Cargo Hold B (she should stand with her back to you). Initiate a conversation with her.
At the very beginning of the conversation it's worth to give her a hug (screenshot above). But the most important part of this meeting is to encourage Kelly to change her identity (lower dialog option), so she won't be tracked by Cerberus' forces. You can not, under any circumstances, skip this step. Otherwise, Kelly will lose her cover in the near future and die (this may happen during Cerberus' attack on the Citadel).
Warning! If you can't find Kelly in the refugee camp., it's most likely you didn't develop a proper romance with her in the previous part of the series (it was necessary to invite her to dinner and she had to perform a dance). Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about it.
It's worth to initiate the next two meetings with Kelly before the start of the main mission on Tuchanka. Already in the course of the first conversation Kelly should have a changed image (screenshot above). It's worth trying for some compliment towards her.
The main topic of the second meeting is Kelly's remorse caused by "spying" for Cerberus in the previous part of the series. You must choose the top dialog option, stating that she did not act badly, but was unaware of the true intentions of the Illusive Man.
Finale of romance with Kelly
If you got Kelly to change her identity correctly, you can meet her again just after completing the task of repelling Cerberus' attack on The Citadel. Kelly should be in the same place and she will be grateful for saving her life by sharing information that Cerberus was trying to track her down.
Now you can peacefully resume the process of building a positive relationship with Kelly, regularly visiting her after completed missions. The finale will take place during a conversation in which Kelly asks the main character if she has someone special in her life and, of course, you should indicate Kelly as main love interest. In order to be sure that you have actually led the conversation in the right direction you will receive an invitation from Kelly to enter the container behind her back and a medallion that is a souvenir of the first meeting with the main character.
