Tali - preliminary requirements and key aspects of this romance
- For obvious reasons, you can start a romance with Tali only if she didn't die in the final part of the story in Mass Effect 2.
- The game does not allow you to establish a romance with Tali from a scratch, so the only solution is to continue the relationship that was started in the second part of the series (this cannot be changed or made up in any way).
How to establish and develop a romance
You will meet Tali for the first time after beginning the main task in the Perseus Veil, that is, the one related to meeting with representatives of the quarian fleet. This is specifically the quest called Priority: Perseus Veil that has been described in detail in our game walkthrough.
In this case, it is irrelevant whether Tali has risen to the rank of admiral or has been banished by her people, because in both cases she will participate in the talks. After the meeting talk to Tali in the boarding room and use up all optional topics.
Tali will suggest ask you whether you could invite her to the captain's cabin and that's how you have to behave (screenshot above). During the meeting in the cabin confirm your desire to continue the relationship you have started earlier.
Warning! Make sure that you don't get too excited about meeting Tali in Shepard's cabin. Tali may lose her interest in you if you become too hasty. This involves not only loosing the chance to get involved with Tali but also impeding her affair with Garrus.
Despite the fact that you have already established a relation with Tali it is worth taking care of building a positive relationship with her, for example, by visiting her after each completed main mission (both on Normandy and on the Citadel).
An important point of relationship with Tali occurs during the mission on Rannoch (the description of Priority: Rannoch main mission is available in our walkthrough). During this mission, you must correctly respond to a declaration of romantic feelings from Tali. It is also very important that after defeating the Reaper you should choose an ending that does not involve the destruction of the quarian fleet to make peace between the Geth and the quarians, or to take steps to destroy the Geth fleet.
When you return from your mission on Rannoch, talk to Tali and follow her suggestion to visit your private cabin on Normandy, where you will find a very interesting souvenir left by her.
Finale of romance with Tali
To spend the night with Tali you can count shortly before taking part in the mission of attacking the headquarters of Cerberus, and it is worth asking her whether taking off her suit may be a major threat to her.
