Research Station is used to conduct research on device blueprints (e.g. chargers for tools or upgrade stations) and resources (e.g. repair patch or plastic waste), which can later be crafted in the Fabricator. Research is unlocked by collecting or scanning new items. This is a very useful machine, because thanks to it you do not have to fly around the map and look for the resource you need. Instead, you can research it and then create it. However, you must bear in mind that the Research Station will not unlock all items - you can't research, for example, plants.

This device cannot be crafted. You can find the Research Station in the Workshop at the very beginning of the game. You must pick it up and transfer it to your Airship. In the Analysis menu, you can check the progress and amount of research you have discovered, including completed ones. The Research Station is powered by a Solid State Battery.

Scanning the environment

Scanning the environment in Forever Skies is only possible with the Scanner - Forever Skies: Research Station and environmental scanning - Basics - Forever Skies Guide

Scanning the environment in Forever Skies is only possible with the Scanner. Thanks to this device, you will unlock new research at the Research Station. You can scan many things, including resources, destroyed objects or human bodies. When you hover over an important item, the Scanner icon will appear in the corner of the screen. In the Analysis menu, you can check all the items you have scanned in the game.

The scanner wears out after each use - the yellow bar displayed under the item's icon in the inventory represents its charge level. It can only be powered by a tool charger or its upgraded version. The Scanner must be researched at the Research Station at the very beginning of the game, and after unlocking the blueprint, it can be crafted in the Fabricator.
