In the task Perform field autopsy in Disco Elysium you must perform a field post-mortem and examine the Hanged man. You will get this task after completing the Getting the body down objective.
Walk over to the corpse, talk to Kim and perform a visual inspection of the body - putting on gloves is optional here. It is also worth searching the dumpster beforehand - the ledger found there will make your work easier.
You can get gloves with ammonia from the gardener at the hotel (for free).
During the visual inspection, you may try to cut off the belt, but this requires passing the Physical Instrument skill check - it is worth examining the place for cutting in advance which to significantly increase the chances of success.
During your work, you can get access to two investigation-related tasks, as well as complete one hidden task right away:
- Fridge victim's body: if you tell Kim that you missed something during the autopsy and you need to re-examine the body, you will have to find a way to cool it - an option available after finding the refrigerator (Fridge victim's body), until then you can move away from the corpse without any problems;
- Find the bullet before you get fooled: a hidden task that sheds a whole new light on this case. Completing this task requires passing the legendary Perception skill check followed by an easy Interfacing skill check; -1 points if you were able to correctly determine probable cause of death;
- Send victim's body to processing: You can send the corpse back if you think you've already examined all the clues. The only thing that can keep you from doing this is: not collecting the man's shoes, not finding the bullet - if you're going to do it later, Kim will leave you alone for the rest of the day.
