The Lost & Found Quest series involves finding multiple clues to locate a missing person or important item. On this page of the guide to Dead Island 2 you will learn where to start and how to complete the Fool's Gold quest.
The quest's starting location
To initiate the quest, you need to travel to The Pier. Outside of Lifeguard HQ, you'll encounter an unique zombie - Breaker by the name of Dante. After defeating him, two items will drop - A Totally Legit Letter and Randy's Locker Key. Picking up these items unlocks Fool's Gold mission.
Further stages of the quest
In the letter you will find information that a certain Randy has hidden a treasure in his locker. However, to access it you need Randy's Key - which you'll receive from Dante. The locker, on the other hand, is found on the lower level of Lifeguard HQ.
Upon opening, it turns out that the safe isn't there. Instead you will find a note - Deep Shit. After reading it, you'll receive information of two places that you need to visit.
The first is the ice cream parlor at the Ferris wheel. Check out the area shown in the screenshot. There, on a wooden bench, you'll find a note - Meeting of The Minds.
Now you need to visit a shop at the end of the alley. You're looking for a shop with Frozen Yogurt signboard. Again, reach the area shown in the screenshot.
At the end of the alley you'll notice another note, this time titled Flaws In The Plan. After collecting all 3 notes, a complete safe code will be revealed.
All you have to do now is to reach the back area of the Lifeguard HQ (screenshot).
While there watch out for an ambush. Zombies will start emerging from the sand - you need to defeat them to safely open the safe and complete the task.
Rewards
Completing the quest nets 2.000 XP, a weapon mod - Dissolver, and a legendary weapon - Blood Rage.
