The inventory window in Assassin's Creed Valhalla is extremely important - this is where you can increase the stats of your items. However, it is worth explaining all the matters related to items. On this page of our guide you will learn what kind of items Eivor uses, what weapon sets are, or how to improve items and upgrade their quality. We also described what are the unique features of items and whether it is possible to change the appearance of a weapon.

Types and sets of items

Available types of weapons are quite standard, and you can assign the acquired items to slots. When it comes to armor, Eivor can use a coat and hood, helmet, breastplate, gloves and boots - all of which increase defence stats. You also have a slot for bow and two slots for melee weapons - you can use a one-hand weapon in combination with a shield or wield two such weapons simultaneously. In addition, in the inventory you will also find a quiver for arrows and rations for regaining lost health.

Methods for restoring health are described in detail on a separate page of our guide: Healing - how to restore health?

Item sets are an important topic - Assassins Creed Valhalla: Inventory guide - Basics - Assassins Creed Valhalla Guide and Walkthrough

Item sets are an important topic. A full set consists of all (five) armor elements - using pieces of armor from the same set is associated with a stat bonus. You can easily check the matching set of a given item by hovering the mouse cursor over it - it can be e.g. the raven set or the hunter's set. Each set provides two bonuses - you will get the second one only if you complete the full set. The stats of the sets are different and it is worth to adjust them to your style of play. The buffs include increase chance for dealing critical damage or increased headshot damage.

Improving items and item quality

Your inventory screen is also used to increase the stats of your weapons - the damage it deals of defense rating of the armor. When you hover the cursor over an item, you will see rectangles - their number means how many times you can increase the stats of a particular item. In addition to weapons, you can also upgrade your quiver and rations. Thanks to this you will be able to store more arrows and healing items.

The number of available rectangles can be increased by increasing item's quality - Assassins Creed Valhalla: Inventory guide - Basics - Assassins Creed Valhalla Guide and Walkthrough

The number of available rectangles can be increased by increasing item's quality. Quality in Assassin's Creed Valhalla it is divided into four categories:

  1. Fine quality - up to 2 improvements
  2. Superior quality - up to 4 improvements
  3. Flawless quality - up to 7 improvements
  4. Mythical quality - up to 10 improvements

You can improve the quality of your weapons at Gunnar's smithy in the settlement. Of course, upgrades are not free - you need a specific amount of crafting materials (the higher the quality of the item, the rarer the materials you will have to get).

Additionally, increasing the quality of gear unlocks slots for runes - Assassins Creed Valhalla: Inventory guide - Basics - Assassins Creed Valhalla Guide and Walkthrough

Additionally, increasing the quality of gear unlocks slots for runes. These are special items that provide additional bonuses to your items - increasing resistance to fire or poison or providing a damage bonus. You will get runes while exploring the world, but you can also buy them from traders or receive them as a reward for completing tasks or fishing and hunting challenges (the latter two required you to build appropriate buildings in the settlement first) .

Improving your gear involves the need for acquiring appropriate raw materials. Take a look at the separate page of our guide: Crafting materials - how to get?

Customizing weapon appearance

The quality of the item also affects its appearance - Assassins Creed Valhalla: Inventory guide - Basics - Assassins Creed Valhalla Guide and Walkthrough

The quality of the item also affects its appearance. For example, high-quality armor has more additional elements on it and looks more sturdy. This is the only way to change the appearance of our gear. You cannot independently influence the color or appearance of your items.

However, you can influence Eivor's appearance to some extent. We described it on a separate page of our guide: Character appearance - how to change it?
