On this page of our guide to AC Valhalla you can find information related to the settlement in the game and its development. It is a new mechanic that has not appeared in the previous installments of the series.
The settlement can be considered as Eivor's base. It's a place where you make a lot of decisions. In addition, it will be a starting point for your next missions. The protagonist is the leader of his clan, so the village is also a location you have to take care of.
A novelty in the series is that you will gradually expand your settlement during the course of the game. You will be able to erect many structures with different functions on the site. These include a blacksmith shop, barracks and even a tattoo parlor. These buildings can be improved, increasing their efficiency and scope of operation.
The inhabitants also play an important role in the settlement. Initially there won't be many of them, but as the gameplay progresses and more tasks are being completed, the settlement's population will increase. Each has his own experiences and is characterized by different behaviors. This adds a vibrant feel of life in the town. During the adventure, you can talk to any person that resides in your settlement. This way you're able to build relationships with them and get attached to them.
Additionally, diplomatic options were implemented in the game. You will be able to negotiate with each encountered group. This will allow you to increase your influence and potentially avoid major warfares or battles. Consequently, ceremonies such as weddings that seal the alliance of clans may take place in the settlement.
